Wilmington Neighborhoods: Whisper Creek Whisper Creek currently is one of Wilmington's most desired family neighborhoods. It is leafy, low key, with spacious large tree lined yards. Each house has generally 1/3 to 1/2 acre lots. The houses are not new but are a combination of brick and newer siding treatments. Rad Band Festival this weekend - not stop bands at downtown bars - with an estimated 100 bands to participate. THe events Starts Friday afternoon with the banks taking over 4 downtown locales including both floors of the Soapbox. There will be bands from all over participating. The locales participating include The Soapbox, 255 N Front St, The Whiskey 1 S. Front St, 16 Taps, 127 Princess St and Charley Brownz - S. Front St. in downtown Wilmington. The Masonboro Forest Subdivision is in southern central Wilmington, NC. It is a 60 acre subdivision in which is carved estate homes, mid range homes and patio homes. It is 20 minutes to all area beaches.

This weekend while showing property at Carolina and Kure Beaches I noticed the huge waves rolling in. These strong waves are certainly affecting our beaches. They erode away our precious sand which brings tourists and homebuyers to SE NC. However we are certainly lucky that the US Government and the state of North Carolina are involved in providing $ 22 million to dredge and renourish sand on the beaches of Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Masonboro Islands. Yeah it is finally happening. Something fun, something for the family just for 4 months is coming to Carolina Beach - an amusement park with rides, food and some games. This will be set up with in a month on some empty lots on the recently upgraded Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Food will be provided by one the restaurants in the area.
