Wow!  Its so hard to believe that summer is over its seems like yesterday I was sitting in my office with the window open and the wonderful smells of summer were just outside.  However, Fall in Sussex County brings many fun things to do.

The annual Scrapple Apple Festival is in Bridgeville the second weekend in October 9th and 10th.  Bring you appetite and your family and come see all the crafts, cars and vendors. For more information and a complete line up of events visit www.applescrable.com.

Do Forget about Punkin Chunkin too!  www.punkinchunkin.com this year Nov 6, 7th & 8th.

Remember if you are looking for a fun and inexpensive place to retire Sussex County has so much to offer.  No Sales tax, Low property taxes, beautiful beaches, state parks, golfing and so much more.  It is really a wonderful place to live.

WOW!  How lucky am I to work 5 blocks from the Ocean.  Today is absolutely beautiful! The sun is shining the birds are singing and the people are out.  This weekend is Memorial weekend the beginning of our summer season.  The workmen and women are all running around with last minute clean ups and fixing toliets, windows, air conditioners etc.  The beach is buzzing getting ready for our up coming vistors.  Remember while visiting the beach take time to visit some of our wonderful listings many will open this weekend in antcipation of the prospective buyer stopping in.

Rehobotho Avenue is gearing up as well.  The merchant are stocking the shelves, the food trucks are delivering all the yummy found to the restaraunts and I can smell the pizza, french fries and ice cream.  And they all smell sooooo good.

Rehoboth Beach 2 Bedroom 2 Bath condo's east of Rte 1 starting in the lower $200's.  You can bike to the beach.  Single Family homes in the low $300's just off Rte 1.  We have some really great deals going on right now and the rates are still low.  So if you are looking for the vacation getaway, thinking of retiring we have the perfect spot for you.

Although the weather today was cold and rainy the summer season is just around the corner.  I was in Ocean City for a quick visit with some friends this weekend and the people were out.  The annual Custom Car Show was in town and it draws a huge crowd.  It is not recommended as weekend to visit OC if you are not a car fan.  I have a large group of friends that attend every year and now that I am just a short drive away I try to go and hang out for a day or so.  Ocean City is not my area of Real Estate but I have friends there who are in the business and are very knowledgeable of the current market.  Rehoboth was buzzing this weekend as well with their annual side walk sale and the weather turned out to be warm and sunny.

A favorite spot on the Rehoboth boardwalk visited by both locals and tourist regularly was busy this weekend.  I must admit I was on the Ocean City boardwalk enjoying their fries, ice cream and pizza I am lucky enough to be able to hit the Rehoboth boardwalk during the week for lunch.  The Summer House, Louie's Pizza, Thrasher Fries, The Cultural Pearl, Purple Parrot, and don't let me forget Arena's.  All wonderful places for a sit down meal or quick snack.  So when you are thinking a place visit in the upcoming weekends remember Delaware has so much to do in both season and off season, there is NEVER a dull moment in our area.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's.  Although today I am in the office working my Sunday shift its a beautiful day at the beach. No one is really looking for homes today, but the weather is perfect.   This afternoon I will head home to a wonderful family cookout, with my children, my husband, my mom and one of two of my brothers, I am sad however, my sister will not be there she is to far away.  I am very lucky to live in such a wonderful place.  I can go shopping, sit on the beach for a few hours on sunny day or work at home in my gardens.  Delaware is very beautiful this time of year with the flowers blooming, the crowds are minimal and the sun is shining.

Enjoy your day mom's

Wow I am so happy that Spring has finally arrived.  Although I have not place many SOLD signs this winter I have been rather busy with other things.  I coached cheerleading at my daughter's High School this past Winter and loved it.  The girls were so much fun, in addition I worked Part time in my friends Liquor Store (completely different from other jobs I have had in the past)  And last but not I began attending classes at the local college to finally begin working on my degree again after many years of sabatical.  I plan to take it slow to start, but hope to be finished sometime in the next 5-6 years.  After being out of school for so long its takes alittle adjusting to get back into the habit of Homework and relearning things I had forgotten all about.

I am looking forward to the warmer weather that should be upon us in the next few weeks so I can get started on my garden (which I hope to stay in control of this year) and some much needed landscaping in my yard.

Sellers remember a pretty yard draws people to your home, so get the rakes, and shovels ready for upcoming weeks, mulch those flower beds and trim the trees.  Fresh flowers on the tables in the kitchen, dining room and even bedrooms can warm up any room.  The buyers are coming so get ready.

In the next few weeks the flowers will be blooming all over the Eastern Shore as well as in neighboring states.  I know it has been a hard winter on so many people and we will all welcome the warmer temperatures.  What a great place to be this time of year Sussex County, DE.  You have 3 beaches to enjoy and something to do everyday.  Lewes, Rehoboth and of course do not forget Dewey Beach.  The seasonal spots have begun to get ready for the upcoming season.  March 27-29 the annual Home Show in Rehoboth Beach, for more information go to www.rehobothbeach.com. Tips and tricks to spruce up your home.

Although many people do not believe we have hit the bottom yet I still believe it is a great time to buy.  Prices are down and so are the mortgage rates!  We have many homes, and condo's ready for you the consumer to purchase now and be here before the summer season begins.  Townhouses, Condos, and Single Family all prices ready to sell.  For more information and just a few of the current homes visit www.katibythesea.com (currently under construction but available to view some of my current listings).

Just a few of the elves with Ms. Claus!  Deter, Abbie, Katie & Randy in front of the float.  I must say being in the parade as opposed to being a spectator is a much different experience especially in the town you reside.  It really is a big blurr.  We had alot of fun and are looking forward to the next one in Lewes, DE saturday at 5pm.  Many of my colleagues attend this one so I am sending out warm wishes in advance because I am sure (even with my glasses on) I will not see you.

I wanted to thank Lucille Johansen for all her hard work on our Elf costumes yes, they are all hand made hats and all.  What fun.  I guess if I am not making much money in Real Estate these days I can always call up Santa and ask for a job as an elf I am short enough.

Happy Holidays to all!!!!

It is officially the holiday season in Delaware!  The lights are all hung and the parades have started here in our wonderful beach area.  Each town as you may remember from past blogs has a Christmas parade with floats, marching bands and beauty pageant winners.  We also have Mrs. Claus and the anticipated arrival of Santa Claus for the young and old.  Yesterday Milton, DE kicked off the season with their parade at 2pm.  Unfortunately for me I missed it but I will be attending the Georgetown and Lewes parades this year.  We are participating in both with our friends @a new venture, located on Rte 9 in Milton on the way to the beach. And of course my husband's new venture   in the unit right next door, we will be the elves with Mrs. Claus.  This is the first time since living in Delaware we have participated we are usually spectators.  I hoping for a balmy night not freezing as it has been.  Pictures to follow....

The holiday are upon us as well so check out the schedules on the website and hurry to get your tickets they go fast.  www.leweschamber.com & www.georgetownde.com and of course don't forget about downtown Rehoboth Beach!!! www.rehobothbeach.com for all your holiday information check out these websites.  We have caroling on the circle in Georgetown, Downtown Lewes has their annual night out on the town (Shopping in downtown) and so much more!
