Have you ever had someone ask you a question that you didn't really know the answer to, so you just kind of hummed and hawed? I don't know about anyone else, but I find it takes a lot of time to keep up with everything online. I know that there are some people that spend a lot of time online, and then they write how they've had so many transactions, it just doesn't jive. Even the best multi-taskers still need to get off the computer to show houses.

Have you ever made a personal goal that really had no relevance to anything? Back around August of 2007 I made a comment about points, and someone on here said they had given 10,000 comments. That number astounded me as I was still pretty new, and couldn't even imagine anyone commenting that many times on other people's Posts. From that day to now I made it a goal to give 10,000 comments, and to always have my comments given be more than the comments received. I have finally achieved that goal today! I'd be lying if I didn't say I like it when I get recognition for my writing, only if it's good that is. And I believe all of us like recognition. So how would you feel if you wrote a Post and it got Featured not once, but several times :) How would you feel if your Peers actually decided the Cream of the Crop. Quality writing stands out, Regurgitated Writing gets old fast. The Big Fish in the small pond usually gets eaten by the Shark sooner or later .

I have just spent the first couple hours of 09 reflecting on the good from last year and all the idiosyncrasies that occurred from my Active Rain Blogging. After over a year and a half I learned some things yesterday that made me think. And think I did...Who Follows us, and why? Why do they choose your Blog to read, especially if you don't have one of those glaring Subscribe to me buttons, and they have to actually make some effort to do so :)

"We don't have to be #1.....all we have to do is keep writing ....add a few more articles, some pictures, Market Conditions, and Neighborhood News. We just have to be consistent, and real.....that is what will get our Blog read." I am in the midst of judging one of the hardest contests I've been involved with to date, just as my Points rolled over the 200,000 mark. I find it very apropos that I am giving back just as I passed this magic number, as that has been the mark of my time on Active Rain....giving back to the Community.

If I was in charge, and boy are you guys lucky I'm not....but if I was I would give a Group Award to Real Estate Agent Todd Clark of Beaverton, Oregon. Todd joined the e-PRO Group after we resurrected it in August of 07. Since the day he joined the Group, October 27,2007, he has been a consistent supporter. Today is Monday.....yea yea I know many of you don't like Mondays, and I read on Twitter that my friend Nannette Saunders isn't liking her Monday so far. Ahh a normal person, that actually has a bad day every now and then :) But on the flip side, I sent out a request for someone in Florida....and another friend Audrey June-Forshey called me with the name and number of a great resource down there. She had already made a call....now how great is that? So, my Monday has already started with some of the unexpected rewards from Blogging.

I wrote a Post the other day and told you that I had been laughing for over 1/2 an hour, which is true. And although this is long, it is a quick, no brain-er...(I hope), and sure to bring a laugh :) Think of how many times do we set-up Profiles for various Social Networking or Blogging sites? Name, e-mail, occupation, you know the normal stuff......normal for most of us that is. It's almost 10:30am CA time, and I have been laughing for over half an hour, and want to share my new discoveries with you.....but I can't. At least not till after 6 tonight. No matter what job we have, no matter how many social networks we belong to, it's all about relationships. Who are your friends? Who's on your Subscribed List...Do you even know most of these people? Some days I just feel old, but thankfully most days I have a lot of energy, and am willing to learn new things. Trying them, on the other hand takes a lot of trust, and knowing that there is a learning curve, which of course for me means frustration, causes indecision. Killing 125, why is it that we turn up the TV to hear this type of news or click on the links to read about it online? Why is it that we want to know about this awful occurence, even though it's not necessarily relatable. What happened? Who did it, and where was it? Our emotions churn and we want to know more. How many times have you bought something on e-bay, or anywhere else on the Internet, but once you received it you were disappointed - it wasn't really what you thought it was. How many times have you bought something on e-bay, or anywhere else on the Internet, but once you received it you were disappointed - it wasn't really what you thought it was. Maybe the picture showed it larger. Or the description embellished the attributes, maybe there wasn't a picture at all, just the items description. For whatever reason you aren't happy.
Our Presence here, on Active Rain, does the same thing : Look at the 2 Packages below. Which one do you like the best, and why? What if there was a card telling you what was inside......would that make a difference?

When you write a Post to your Blog what are your expectations? A Post takes time to write, time to edit for spelling and grammar errors, maybe find an appropriate photo or other graphic, and hopefully the content is either entertaining, educational, or inspirational, or possibly all of these.
Now that you have it written, you go back and make sure you haven't intentionally offended anyone, and then Post it.....but what if your intention was to write about one thing yet everyone else picked up on something different. What was your expectation?
