real estate agents: A Lesson on the small things-remembering the details - 01/05/11 02:01 PM
Today I had to get the thermostat replaced in my house as  somehow the connections werent working properly  and  the heater wouldn't turn on.  There was a lesson learned while watching the repair man, one for everyone.  While watching the repairman I was reminded that forgetting about the small things can make all the difference in the world for the successful completion of a job.

The small things; how many times have we remembered the big things, but somehow forgot the small things?  The repairman today called and asked what size thermostat it was.  He wanted to get a … (8 comments)

real estate agents: Real Estate Educating Clients to Your Needs...What Do You Want Them to Know? - 10/12/10 04:48 PM
I sell Real Estate...and I am supposed to care about the clients needs, but what about "my needs", our needs.  What do Real Estate Agents and Realtors really expect from the other people in a transaction of buying and or selling properties.

Real Estate Agents write tons of stuff.  We have blogs to educate.  Blogs to entertain.  Blogs that are written to network so we have a good referral base, but really what have all these blogs taught everyone?  Why are we still trying to educate people about some of the basics of Real Estate transactions?

real estate agents: Real Estate Agents Also Have Lost Their Homes to Foreclosure - 08/02/10 02:19 PM
Real Estate Agents sell Real Estate, and most of us have a mortgage on our own homes.  A mortgage that is paid through our earnings from selling homes.  Money that is earned from working, just like our clients.  But when people aren't buying homes or land then it affects our ability to pay our bills  and our own mortgages.  I know as I lost my home in January after a 2 year fight.

real estate agents: Lil Devil and Lil Angel: Breaking all the rules..... - 07/12/09 07:07 PM
What you see is not always what you get!  This week the Lil Devil was fuming at another Real Estate Agent for reportedly scamming a neighbor.  We all know what fiduciary duty means, and we know that we have a ton of rules to follow...as well as Fair Housing and anti-Discrimination rules.  So when I heard about what this agent did, well......
      Lil Devil- "I was Pissed!"
Lil Angel-This couldn't be happening, nobody would jeopardize their license by this type of behavior. Maybe my neighbor got it wrong. But when she told me the punch line (the final straw … (12 comments)

real estate agents: Real Estate Agents: What are you doing to survive - 07/09/09 06:17 AM
A long time ago, in a far off place Real Estate used to sell.  Phones were ringing, computers were writing contracts instead of Tweeting, and ATM's cards were used to get money....that green stuff, out of the Bank.  Oh  and that's when the word Bank used to mean the place that we put our money in, now they just take what little we have, and give Real Estate Agents headaches.

Our Parents used to talk about walking 5 miles in the snow....using an old typewriter, and black and white TV.  They loved getting a gold watch and a pension after … (25 comments)

real estate agents: Real Estate Agents: Who are they and what can I expect from one - 03/01/09 05:52 AM
Sometimes people think a Real Estate Agent works 24/7 because of some of the advertising they see, especially on the Internet. The Internet allows you to have 24/7 access to our websites and other information we have spent time compiling for you, so it's easy to see why some people might think we are at their beck and call 24/7.  The Internet  does allow a good Real Estate Agent to help you without you even having to leave the comfort of your home 24/7, but sometimes even the Internet isn't good enough, and no one works all the time.

real estate agents: CA Real Estate Facts- sold is the goal - 01/08/09 06:04 AM
Real Estate is cyclical....what goes up must come down, and what is down will come up.  Be smart in your Real Estate dealings, look at the Big Picture. In these tough economic times people are getting scammed, losing their jobs, not being able to make the mortgage, or trying to figure out how to buy a home for the best deal possible.
Not only is Real Estate cyclical, but it is also local.  Every area is different, and listening to news reports, or Marketing by Realtor Sue or Broker Bob in Texas won't help you in California.  Nor will the advice of … (20 comments)

real estate agents: Real Estate: I love my Profession because....... - 10/18/08 06:05 PM
Why I love Real Estate....I was tagged by Sally Cheeseman to write this.  I had never even thought of a Career in Real Estate, but once I entered this Profession I liked it.  I had previously worked with families in trouble, abused and neglected kids, juvenile delinquents, andpeople that needed help with all kinds of social issues.  Until I bought my house in 1997 I had never even met a Real Estate person, and honestly can't say I remember one bit of Marketing from someone in the Profession.

The top reasons I love my Profession are I get to be outside and incorporate photography … (36 comments)

One for the money and two for the show....grab your coffee, and let's go go go :)  Yep, it's Monday, Happy Monday again. Today I want to make sense of why gas prices are outrageous, and I want to make sense of why so many families can't afford the basic food items anymore, let alone $5 for a gallon of gas.  But I won't.....I can't or I would start my week off on a very down note.  So what I will do is be thankful for the things I've learned that will save me gas money :)

real estate agents: Driving Safely in unfamiliar areas - 10/14/07 09:42 AM
Ever just get in your car, fasten the seat belt, and continue on your way without any thought that you might never make it to your destination? How do you know which areas have the most Traffic Accidents if you are just driving through?
As a Real Estate Agent I drive a lot.....and I used to think I was a good driver.  But just one small mishap can change everything forever.  Many times we have to drive in areas we are unfamiliar with.  We drive in rush hour traffic, bad weather:  dust storms, wind storms, rain and snow storms. Whatever it takes … (21 comments)

real estate agents: Joe Blow isn't on TV... But the Big Balloon Company is...How Do You Choose - 10/11/07 09:59 AM
Have you ever driven down Main Street of whatever city you wanted to buy a home in, and noticed all the Real Estate Offices?  If it is a small town, you might have Mom and Pop Browns Realty, and Joe Blow's Realty Plus, a few more with cute catchy names, some with pictures in the windows and some with a lot of neat stuff outside inviting you in.

But how do you know which one to go to, especially if you have 10 choices within a few blocks radius?  Do you go to the one with the Big Balloon because you saw … (83 comments)
