Edina Public Schools Ranks 76 in Newsweek's Best High Schools in America
Edina, Minn., May 21, 2011 - Edina Public Schools ranks 76 out of 500 high schools in Newsweek's 2011 list of the best high schools in America. Among the top 500 schools, 9 Minnesota high schools received honors, with Edina being the only school in Minnesota to rank in the top 100.

Bullying among children and teens is on the rise and with more and more access to social media outlets it will continue to be a problem. The city of Edina is not sitting quietly back and ignoring this problem, but instead is tackling it head on. On April 26th at Edina High School's Fick Auditorium there will be an anti-bullying event. Tentative plans are to have the event doors open at 6pm with the official event kicking off at 7pm by Edina's Mayor Jim Hovland. There will be food available on behalf of local food vendors. Outdoor ice rinks open for season
Edina, Minn., Dec. 17, 2010 - The City of Edina's 11 outdoor ice skating rinks have opened for
the season.
The 11 ice skating rinks are at Arden, Cornelia School, Creek Valley, Highlands, Lewis, Normandale,
Pamela, Strachauer, Todd, Walnut Ridge and Weber parks. All locations have warming houses and
hockey rinks.
Warming house hours are 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday

‘Recycle Your Holidays' Kicks Off Another Year
Edina, Minn., Dec. 21, 2010 - The City of Edina is working with the Recycling Association of
Minnesota (RAM) on the second-annual holiday lights recycling program, "Recycle Your
Holidays."
RAM, in partnership with WCCO TV, Xcel Energy and Ace Hardware, began the holiday lights
recycling effort in 2009. According to RAM's website, www.RecycleMinnesota.org, last year's
goal to recycle 50,000 pounds of holiday lights was more than doubled.

Friday December 17th marked the opening day of the cities outdoor ice skating rings and they will remain open until February 21st of 2011.
