The uptrend in existing-home sales continues, with January sales rising for the third consecutive month with a pace that is now above year-ago levels, according to the National Association of REALTORS®.
Existing-home sales1, which are completed transactions that include single-family, townhomes, condominiums and co-ops, increased 2.7 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.36 million in January from a downwardly revised 5.22 million in December, and are 5.3 percent above the 5.09 million level in January 2010. ‘Recycle Your Holidays' Kicks Off Another Year
Edina, Minn., Dec. 21, 2010 - The City of Edina is working with the Recycling Association of
Minnesota (RAM) on the second-annual holiday lights recycling program, "Recycle Your
Holidays."
RAM, in partnership with WCCO TV, Xcel Energy and Ace Hardware, began the holiday lights
recycling effort in 2009. According to RAM's website, www.RecycleMinnesota.org, last year's
goal to recycle 50,000 pounds of holiday lights was more than doubled.

DISTRICT AND EDUCATION MINNESOTA/EDINA REACH TENTATIVE AGREEMENT:On Wednesday, February 24th, representatives from the school district and Education Minnesota/ Edina (Union) met in mediation to seek resolution to the Union’s work agreement. A tentative agreement was reached during the session. This tentative agreement is now moving forward to seek ratification by the Union membership and approval by the school board. These actions will be moving forward through the first weeks in March.

It’s good news and it’s bad news for the Twin Cities housing market. It’s good if you are looking to buy and bad if you are wanting to sell or at least hoping for your housing investment to hold. The news is the drop in Minneapolis and St. Paul home prices for the second straight month.
It’s not totally bad news for home owners though, the drop in November was a slight 0.5 percent from a month before, but compared to the prices from a year before the overall decline was 6.8 percent.
