My favorite virtual tour provider, VisualTour.com has a new feature that lets you create a YouTube video from your virtual tour and then uploads it to YouTube.
While I was putting some extra photos on a listing today I had a thought. I wondered if it would be possible to download the Visual Tour video from YourTube as an MPEG file and then upload that same file to Realtor.com and put a video on your listing along with the virtual tour and still photos. I watched the lively debate and talk among Brad Inman, founder of HomeGain, Allen Dalton, President of Realtor.com, and Lloyd Frink, one of the principals of Zillow.com. Dalton got in some pretty good one liners about Zillow and alluded to them as being similar to the carnival hucksters who would guess your weight or age with about the same accuracy. Not surprisingly Mr. Frink took umbrage at Dalton's remarks but it was all pretty civil and no blood was shed. I've had a long time hate/love relationship with the folks that operate Realtor.com for NAR since around 1995 when they first went into business with us and were called RealSelect. Back then I thought Realtor.com was the greatest thing since pockets on a shirt and would revolutionize the way we did business. That was moderately true. Since then they've done some really dumb things with their business not to mention some pretty crappy things to us; their "Realtor partners" (their name for us among others).
