As some of you out there may have heard, on December 22nd there was a major ash spill in Kingston, TN at the TVA coal plant. This spill has drastically affected property values in this and the surounding areas. TVA has been running tests to make sure the water is safe. So far the tests show that water is safe for drinking, and the chemical content of the water is actually way below safe drinking water standards. As far as the environmental impact of the spill, it seems to only be affecting the Emory River, and a very small radius surrounding it. Neighboring Watts Bar Lake remains unaffected.

So if you have a client looking to relocate to a lake property in East TN, don't count out Watts Bar Lake. It is a beautiful place  to live, work, and play.
