Ironman Race, Kailua Kona, just got a LOT tougher - 05/26/11 07:13 PM

The Ford Ironman Race held in Kailua Kona every year, just got lot tougher. Its not like the 2.4 mile swim, then riding their bike another 112 miles, and then, running, yet another 26 miles wasn't grueling enough - mother nature just threw one in. In the last 3 days there have been 2 Shark attacks near the swim course - REAL NEAR the swim course.
The Shark is estimated  to be a 16 foot Tiger Shark - both, by the eyewitness accounts, and the size of the bite marks.

Poor Miss Magoo is in need of a special home. Miss Magoo was born blind, and orphaned at 3 days old. let's go back a little bit here. We do "fostering" for the Hawaii Humane Society and a couple of weeks ago a man walked into the humane society with 9 little puppies, whose mother had been run over by a car, and he said it was just too much for him to handle, so our favorite animal control officer gave us a call at 5:00 pm and said they really needed some help on this one - she got my … (2 comments)

You know, I don't event talk much about my involvement with our local Humane Society or Animal Shelter, I guess just because it is self rewarding - don't need to talk about it. But for some reason I wanted to share with the world today - get more people involved. We are set up with the Hawaii Humane Society to foster pets when needed, uaully just emergencies, well that call came in last week. I had never heard Osama Bin Laden,  called Usama Bin Laden, before? I was watching CNN and when they would  go to a break, I would switch over to FOX news, and all they would talk about was Usama, I kept thinking they were talking about Osama's son? How many viewers did they lose,  trying to be different? I think they totaly missed the boat with this one, looking for others opinions?
