Working on your computers while exercising.....unheard of....that is until now.   A doctor from the Mayo clinic apparently invented this "Walkstation" A computer desk with a treadmill built in.. Walking at 1 mph while working, they say it will help you lose, possibly, 57 lbs a year. A little pricey....$6,500 per walkstation. If you are handy you can just buy the treadmill from the company about $695, and build your own desk....

Pets fall victim to the nationwide mortgage crisis - 12/21/08 08:20 PM
I have seen this first hand myself, I have now had tthree homes that the owners have abandoned after foreclosure, that I was listing, when we went into the homes, and there were pets left in the home to die..it's rediculous.

Patricia, I think I had the call from the same guy...  I told him the same thing, and you are right he did not listen, he was actually kind of arrogant, he admitted that he was on AR calling agents...like shooting fish in a barrel for these guys.
I had a furniture sales man like him a few days back..and you are right, it does make you a better salesperson....contrast is a good thing.. ;)

Market Report: 2008 Housing Statistics for 20169 (Haymarket, Virginia) - 12/20/08 07:11 PM
When you look at the statistics for Haymarket, Virginia (20169) you can't help but feel a little optimistic.  There is good and bad news, but I think the good out weighs the bad (or that could be my rose colored glasses)
The total dollary volume sold increased by a staggering 71.18% from 2007
The median sold price did drop by -21.41%
But, total units sold increased by 92.86%
Days on Market, also decreased by -20.16%
The average sale as % of list price increased to 93.34% as opposed to 89.97% from 2007
These are encouraging to me.  Of course no one thinks this will get better over night, but the numbers don't … (0 comments)

One of my favorite places to go when I was a kid was the zoo...  The National Zoo in Washington D.C. has a spectacular Christmas Light display for kids (well the whole family) The Zoo is cover in lights, and has dozens of animal light sculptures.

 There Has been so much talk about the FED rate cut and every time, I don't see much happen....so I read an article tonight that explained it in simple terms...which I will now share with you..
*Mortgage Rate... Okay, the FED cut will have little impact on those (who knew)
*Prime Rate: ...so if you have a loan, or a credit card or something that uses this as an index...lucky you....you could see a decline in your rate..
*Line of Credit (HELOCS) so...good news, your rate could go down here, but, (I know there is always a but)  apparently some HELOCs … (1 comments)

A Nifty Little PDF editor.... - 12/19/08 05:55 PM
If you pass pages, of a contract back and forth like I do, trying to get initials,  then you don't have one file that has the entire ratified contract together....I used to print all the ratified pieces off and fax it to myself (efax) to have one complete pdf File.
That is until I stumbled on the "Jaws PDF Editor" and I love it....  You can import pages from other PDF files to create one file...Brilliant.   You can buy the software from the website...and download it on the spot....It will be the best investment you've ever made... :)  Get Jaws

A recent bout with some strange virus this past week, made me realize a few things,..I definately do all the housework, because nothing got done when I was laid up, the kids still expect someone to make dinner...because Mom, "You're not supposed to get sick" 
The phone still rings, the emails keep coming (had 341 as of this morning, after 4 days of being out of commission) the REO's that I'm listing...are..well REOs and someone has to babysit them, because the vandals keep vandalizing, the animals keep getting in them terroizing potential buyers, the Asset Mangers need their MMR's and bids.....

3rd Quarter Market Report for Prince William County....not too shabby - 12/13/08 08:04 AM
According to the MRIS, the 3rd quarter, in Prince William County....not too shabby... Here are the stats in a nut shell.
As compared to the 2nd Quarter:
          *The Average price of home did drop in price from $289K to $249K
          *Homes on the market decreased from 9,041 to 4,930
          *The number of homes sold increased from 1,338 to 2,798
*The average days on market even fell slightly from 73 to 67
         *The real numbers, that are impressive to me, are the comparisons from last years Q3
             to this  years.

 Anyone who lives in the D.C. area and has traveled around 495 near Kensington, MD, has seen this enormous building reaching for the sky....my kids always thought is looked like the magic kingdom...but its the Morman Temple..and impressive piece of architecture.  Each year  the temple grounds opens up to the Festival of Lights...it is simply gorgeous...there are nightly performances, and a live nativity scene... and best of all...it's FREE!!  Happy Holidays.

An REO listing gone oh so wrong.... - 12/11/08 07:25 PM
This is one for the record books... I have this REO in pre marketing...the cliff notes version.. offered cash for keys, they occupants agreed to a date, but didn't honor it when the time came.  The bank issued a 5 day pay or quit, so they got out....we checked for occupancy, the house was vacant... end of story right.......nope, that's just the beginning.
We rekeyed the property and secured it.  Went back the next day....the house had been broken into, and vandelized, bowling balls through the walls, furniture sticking out of the walls, cat litter box throw everywhere....called the police..but they … (0 comments)

We were decorating our tree this evening, when a few of my old son's freinds came over...one kids said, the normally cut a tree from a Christmas Tree Farm... one kid said, that they have an artificial tree, already with the lights, ornaments and everything on it...and the just bring it up from the basement every year... WHAT!!  
Now, I'm not a Christmas Tree snob :) but I just love the idea of a fresh tree....not so eco friendly I will have to admit.....but to have a tree already decorated, gathering dust in the basement....I couldn't believe that!!  Thats pretty funny … (17 comments)

Don't be a spectator...write your Senator and Congressmen/Congresswomen!!!  I wrote a post yesterday, about people who are paying their mortgages, but are struggling, need help too... Hey...What About Me??
I did'nt realize so many people where thinking the same thing....So, I decided to do something about it...I have written my Senator and Congressmen about working these people into their plans...
I don't think homeowners, who can't refinance, because they owe more on their homes, than they are worth, and are stuck paying mortgages that are making them struggle.. (whew that was a mouth full) Should be left out of the equation....So, write your local public … (6 comments)

I was watching the CEO's of the big 3 on Capital Hill.....and I was thinking....these guys make so much money, are they really in touch with their employees..or the average citizen...the same goes for the CEO's of these banks who got the hand out bail out...
I was thinking....What if...each of these Bank CEO fellas had to live on the salary that thier lowest paid employee made, what if....they were having trouble paying their mortgage..... what if, they had to sit down at a table at night with a pile of bills, and not enough money to pay for them.... First, this is not a political post.. :)I remember the day that I could feel real estate hit the wall.  I had a listing, that would have otherwise have been gone in 1 day, sit on the market, for an unbelievable week and a half...  Back then, that was unheard of, homes were flying off the market, people were offering way over the asking, escalation clauses, throwing out inspections, appraisals... it was crazy....!  But was a different day....it all started to go down hill from there....it was palpable...

This is an update on my post about my deal lost in the underwriting abyss. So, I've had this deal, that has been in "Final" underwriting for going on 2 weeks....Isn't Final...like Final... (Like, isn't there only, one and only, (you would have had to have seen "Saving Silverman" to understand.) Anyway, last week, before Thanksgiving, I am starting to get aggitated..and I really don't ever get aggitated...

I decided to chronical my journey into Growth Leader...I have been very excited about getting started, so much so, that I am sure I drove Bob crazy emailing him..."Are we ready yet?? "  (my mls was dragging their feet) So I signed up for my first class "Vision 101" 
I've always been a little leary about lead generation services, but this sound very promising, and more importantly they seem commited to my success...obviously, my success means their success....!!
