Many residents of Wintergreen are aware of the Remote Control Car Race track in the Shaw Memorial Park next door to the subdivision.  On a bright sunny Sunday, I decided to go over and check it out for myself.  What a found was a bunch of really nice Sumterites with guests from as far away as Raleigh, NC and Savannah, GA. 
I was greeted by several members of the Sumter Area Radio Control Car Club.  I quickly got a quick education on the club, their website and what was happening this weekend.  First, most of these are car drivers are amateurs … (2 comments)

wintergreen: Hey Wintergreen, I want to buy your house! - 02/10/08 11:18 AM
One day last week by husband brought me in an envelope from the mail.  My name as it appears on the tax records (different last name) was on the envelope.  The envelope was also greeting card size, hand written addresses, Fantastic Four stamp and an American Flag sticker on the envelope.  Out of curiosity, I opened it to find two yellow note pad sheets folded in half. 
The pages contained a hand written letter in very neat penmanship.  The letter had my address on it and stated that they understood I owned the property based upon tax records available online.  Hey … (29 comments)
