Anyone who has lived in the greater Houston area knows there can be serious flooding issues. Tropical Storm Allison proved this in a dramatic way in June of 2001. Because of this storm, FEMA flood maps were redrawn and continue to be amended to this very day. The Northwest Houston areas of Cypress and Spring have their share of problematic flooding. The Cypress Creek Watershed is a primary receptacle of water shed in the combined areas and it can prove to be quite troublesome for certain communities.
