Why Go International for Oregon Realtors, or Yurts in Mexico - 01/30/08 07:56 PM
Now, I know Oregon is global.  I was just reading the Gringo Gazette to see what is happening in Southern Baja.  And, what do I see?  and ad for Oregon Yurt Works!  This Cottage Grove, Oregon, business is advertising there yurts to people in Baja, Mexico.  It makes sense... a nice inexpensive portable house for your land in Mexico.  Another reason, Oregon Realtors need to be thinking about Mexico and other countries.
You can visit my site at http://www.buyhomesinmexico.net/ if you want to know more about buying property in Mexico.
By the way the Gringo Gazette is a great way to learn about life … (1 comments)

Why You should Think about Investing in Mexico - 01/30/08 07:46 PM
While some US real estate markets are sluggish, international real estate is cookin'.  If your local market is flat, maybe you should consider what is happening in neighbor countries.
Mexico is having a small real estate boom both for locals and us foreigners.  Check out this article about sale in Mexico: http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/business/articles/0121biz-mexicanhousingboom21-ON.html
It is not just Mexico; Canada also is doing just fine.  Canada had a record number of sales in 2007.  For the full story go to:

Do I pay taxes in Mexico if I am a US Citizen? - 01/30/08 07:34 PM
Mexico and Taxes.
If you're thinking of becoming a resident of Mexico, you should know that Mexico doesn't tax any income earned outside Mexico. Of course, you'll pay Mexican property taxes if you own a house or condo here-but they usually are a lot lower than the property taxes you pay in the US.   However, capital gains is different in Mexico than the US.  If you are not a Mexican citizen or if the property is a vacation home (whether owned by a Mexican or other) then property gains tax will be due.  Also when you sell property in Mexico you are … (9 comments)

Travel Twice to Mexico & get a Tax Write off! - 01/28/08 07:07 PM
I am no expert in tax advise, but I beleive that that you can write off a portion of a trip for education.  So why not travel to Mexico to learn and get a tan.  Also the beer and margaritas are too bad either.  Another big advantage besides the fun and learning is the networking with fellow Realtors from around the US and abroad.

Krista's Kristal Ball 2008 Forecast - 01/02/08 05:54 PM
I am seeing sales pick up in my area of Southern Oregon.  The first time homebuyers are finally starting to buy, sellers are letting go of their big ideas of big sales prices, and my listings are getting showings.  I think this will continue for this year.  No big upswing, but at least activity. How is it in your area?
Do you agree? or Disagree?
