events: Christmas in Rochester: Don't Miss This Computerized Light Display! - 12/12/12 11:34 PM
Looking for something festive to do in the Greater Rochester area this holiday season? There's a hidden treasure in Henrietta that won't cost a cent but will provide over half an hour of holiday enjoyment!
A homeowner in Henrietta has created his own computerized Christmas light show, T2Lights. Using over 16,000 Christmas lights, he's set his display to music that can be heard over a radio station powered by his own low power FM transmitter. It rivals any display you've seen on the internet!
Here's a preview of my favorite song:

If you're like me, you have a special place in your heart for Frank Capra's holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life. You can probably quote lines like, "Every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings." Maybe you even sing along with Buffalo Gals. But what do you know about the real Bedford Falls?

You may not realize it, but it's widely believed that Frank Capra modeled his village of Bedford Falls after the Rochester area's very own Seneca Falls. Frank Capra is believed to have passed through Seneca Falls on his way to visit relatives in Auburn in … (2 comments)

events: Enjoy Autumn in Rochester! - 09/22/08 11:27 AM
Autumn is my favorite time of year. The weather is getting comfortably cool, the leaves are changing to their brilliant oranges, reds, and yellows, and there's so much to do in the Rochester area!
Here are some of my favorite autumn activities:

Apple Picking. There's something satisfying about reaching up and plucking down your own apple from a tree. My favorite place to pick apples is The Apple Farm on Route 444 in Victor.
Haunted Hayrides. A spook-tacular way to celebrate the Halloween season! Many local farm markets have their own hayrides. Rochester's longest running (and my favorite) haunted … (0 comments)
