Colorado Finds $75.5 Million in Funds Due To Accounting Error - 03/30/11 04:27 PM
It was mentioned on the news last night that the state of Colorado found an extra $ 75.5 million in funds that was missed due to an "accounting error" when the state budget was formulated. Wow! Now, that is quite a big accounting error. Apparently, the formula was not done correctly- really???? My husband and I both looked at each other and laughed. We found it equally disturbing and funny at the same time. Some of them are systems and programs restored, and others are new activities that are happening in Colorado Springs. 1. Police and Fire academies are recruiting 2. Saturday bus services and additional paratransit services restored and residential streetlights are turned back on. 3. Trash cans and park maintenance services returned to neighborhood parks and medians maintained 4. According to the ACCRA Cost of Living Index, the cost of living in Colorado Springs is 7.2 percent less than the national average. The Utilities in Colorado Springs are 13 percent lower when compared to the national average. Colorado Springs keeps electric rates low by having efficient operations and by generating most of the electricity for the community at its local power plants.

Woodmen Oaks Neighborhood, Colorado Springs, CO Very conveniently located in the NW area of Colorado Springs is the neighborhood of Woodmen Oaks. The homes in this neighborhood are nestled in trees and rock formations. These fine custom homes are on larger lots than average. If you are looking for a home near the Air Force Academy, Woodmen Oaks is just minutes away from the south gate. To get to Woodmen Oaks neighborhood- exit I-25 and go west on Woodmen. Woodmen breaks off to the right. You make that turn to the right and go about a block and then turn north (1 comments)
Located in the northeast part of Colorado Springs and the Briargate section of the MLS is a newer community called Cumbre Vista. Keller Homes and Classic Homes are the builders in this neighborhood that began in 2006. Within Cumbre Vista is The Horizon at Cumbre Vista which offers low maintainence large ranch-style type homes.

Forest Meadows Subdivision in Colorado Springs- New and Existing Homes Forest Meadows is a newer, master-planned residential community in Colorado Springs. It is just north of Woodmen off of Black Forest Road. The neighborhood is just a couple of minutes from the Powers Corridor which includes abundant shopping, restaurants, entertainment and even a new hospital, Mt. St. Francis Medical Center. The neighborhood is quite large and has smaller parks throughout. Most of the builders in Forest Meadows start around $180,000. Who is at Your Ticket Counter? Be Careful Who You Hire to Represent Your Name This past I took a trip to Dallas to see some family. On the return flight, when I checked in my bags at the ticket counter, I asked the lady if I could have a seat next to my 11 year old son. She said no. I then asked if we could be close together at least, one row in front or behind type of thing. She said, "I told you NO, the flight is full." She had quite an attitude. She didn't offer any solutions (11 comments)
