The past couple of months have been rough for my family. I have 2 very close family members who have different types of cancer that are not responding to treatment the way would we would like them to. We have had a lot of sadness thinking about the future and what may be coming. Today while getting my haircut, the lady who cuts my hair told me a similar story of her mother fighting cancer. Quite some time ago, I wrote a post about the most positive elderly grocery clerk that I encountered at my grocery store. I don't see him too much anymore, because he must work during the day only. Well, today I stopped by the Safeway to pick up some things for a Christmas party during the day. I saw my favorite grocery clerk,Paul, once again. positive attitude: A lesson in attitude-What I learned from an elderly grocery clerk

I felt compelled to write this because it really shows that life is what you make of it. I was running to the grocery store late yesterday afternoon to pick up a few things and the same nice elderly man was bagging my groceries. This nice man, Paul, is a fixture in this store. Everyone knows him and I am sure they feel as I do about how inspiring he is.
