1. MYTH: All veggie burgers are good for you. FALSE! You may feel virtuous grilling up a veggie burger instead of a thick beef patty, but not all meatless burgers are created equal. Some are highly processed and packed with salt. Just one patty can have up to 400mg of sodium, which is 25 percent of your daily allowance. Before you buy, read the label. You want to see veggies high up in the ingredient list.

Did you know that almost 60 percent of household dust, which may contain lead, arsenic and other pollutants, comes from tracked-in soil and airborne particles from outside? To keep it to a minimum, wipe down pets before letting them back inside, wipe shoes on outdoor mats and leave coats and shoes by the door. Eliminate impurities that do make it indoors by changing air conditioner/heating filters regularly and using a vacuum equipped with a HEPA filter.

You're most likely to get into a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday matinee. Plus, you get the bonuses of cheaper tickets and possible concession stand promotions. If you want that crowd experience, go to a Friday or Saturday 7pm or 9pm show. Most theaters let you buy tickets online as soon as the schedule comes out---anywhere between seven and fourteen days in advance. If you don't want the plot spoiled by water-cooler conversation, go the afternoon of the first day it opens!

There is a lot to love about Preserve's Eco Toothbrushes ($4, greenfeet.com). The handles are made from recycled yogurt cups, and the packaging, made from recyclable material, is printed with a return address right on the pouch. When it's time for a new brush, pop your old brush inside and drop it in the mail (postage is paid)! The folks at Preserve will recycle it for you. I gotta try this!
