Pink has kicked off a petition asking KFC to make sure that the more than 850 million birds killed for its buckets each year aren’t abused in ways that would make any kind person lose their lunch:

Today, Valentines Day, about 30 members from No Wisconsin Puppy Mills Organization (including my sister and I) protested against the Petland Petstore in Pewaukee, WI. This store, and many like them, buys its puppies from puppy mills. Last Saturday, nationwide rallies at 22 Petland stores were held. Most people are terribly disappointed that Petland continues to try to hide behind false claims. HSUS's eight-month investigation exposed the chain as the nation’s largest retail supporter of puppy mills. HSUS investigators visited 21 Petland stores, traced the origins of about 17,000 puppies shipped to the stores, and visited many of Petland’s breeders and suppliers, discovering appalling conditions.

I thought I should share more photos of my other two fur babies, since my orange tabby, Simba, has become quite the celebrity from some of my other posts! Paris is my female gray tabby with buff, and Maxwell is my older brown tabby man! I love them all so much! Paris and Max, like most cats, enjoy laying in warm sun beams. Remember, the camera adds 10-12 lbs, so no nasty comments on their sizes, hee hee!

Millions of shelter animals are euthanized because they never found their forever home. Too many of these animals are dying because many more people are buying from breeders because they think they would find their 'perfect pet' there instead of in shelters. These shelter animals may have had a bad past, but they have so much love to give, if only given the chance! Shelters have volunteers that take their dogs out for walks, socialize the cats, interact with the small animals, but it isn't enough. They need a loving home.
