According to Radar Logic Inc.'s newly released October 2008 RPX Monthly Housing Market Report, home prices and sales volumes decreased more in October 2008 than in any other October since the firm started tracking such data in January 2000. However, for the fourth consecutive month, Milwaukee placed at the top of the 25-MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area) ranking. Home prices in Milwaukee were 5.3 percent higher than a year earlier, making Milwaukee the only MSA tracked by Radar Logic researchers to record a year-over-year price appreciation for the month. Millions of shelter animals are euthanized because they never found their forever home. Too many of these animals are dying because many more people are buying from breeders because they think they would find their 'perfect pet' there instead of in shelters. These shelter animals may have had a bad past, but they have so much love to give, if only given the chance! Shelters have volunteers that take their dogs out for walks, socialize the cats, interact with the small animals, but it isn't enough. They need a loving home.

I think my cat Simba above is a great snapshot of how many of us probably feel right now. I know I am exhausted after the Christmas festivities and traveling to see our loved ones. Although we had a wonderful Christmas again and have so much to be thankful for, it takes a lot of work, doesn't it? And, I didn't even hostess! I don't know how my mom and dad do it every year! I simply had to bring a bottle of wine, our famous artichoke dip, crackers and a cheese plate---I got off really easy this year!
