retzer nature center: Wordless Wednesdays, Retzer Nature Preserve, Waukesha, WI - 10/12/11 08:42 AM
Ok Ok, so it isn't Wordless, but it is a Wednesday, so I thought it would share some photos that I took recently at one of my favorite hiking trails at Retzer Nature Preserve in Waukesha, WI.  It has so much to offer, so if you are in the area, you should really check it out.  My husband and I visit frequently...you never know what you will see.  This trip we saw a couple of large turkeys too.  Early fall is pretty, but the trails get even prettier in the coming weeks....

GPS challenge Here are some of our favorite locations around Retzer Nature Center. The Retzer Teaching Naturalists frequently lead hiking groups to these locations to study and enjoy them. Organized GPS hikes use Retzer GPS units to learn about GPS hiking.
For those of you with hiker-friendly GPS units, we invite you to share the experience of these waypoints. Where are the caches? Nature has provided an ever changing variety of "caches" at these sites. We find differences and surprises each time we visit them. We invite you to return and watch them grow and change.

retzer nature center: Use A Rain barrel!!! - 01/11/11 10:43 AM
 
 
My hubby and I are trying to do even more to become Greener in 2011.  One of the choices we have made is to purchase a rain barrel system.  We found this one locally, and purchased it yesterday.  You have to check out the cool video on the RainReserve site!  We chose this system b/c it is mosquito proof, unlike most with a simple mesh barrel top, and the diverter system is top notch too!  Check them out and do your part for Mother Earth!
