There's a new, cute & clean little pedicure & manicure (etc.) shop that opened in San Antonio recently.  It's a hop, skip and a jump from my house, i've been passing it for weeks now, so I was excited to finally try it out. 
Located on the access road of 1604 right past Braun & before Bandera road you will find T's Nails

I popped in on a Saturday without an appointment and was seen right away for a pedicure.

This might look like a regular road to some, but to me and other Wildhorse residents and San Antonians who live and work in the area, it means so much more. 
To us, this road means tenacity, productivity, freedom, frustration, suffocation & hard work. 
Alright, that might be a tad dramatic. 
The road on the left has been under construction for about two years  and now is COMPLETE!

Everyday is Earth day in San Antonio, Texas - 02/17/09 03:37 PM

Want to attempt to inflict the least amount of harm on the environment everyday vs. just on Earth Day?  We started seeing it quite awhile back in San Antonio's super markets and admitted re-usable bags are the way to go.  We decided to jump on the eco-friendly band wagon with our own bags:This bag is made of non-woven polypropylene, it's tough, water resistant, reliable and recylclable!

If you haven't heard the new radio spots put out from the Texas Association of Realtors (TAR) you are really missing out.  Each time I hear one I smile.  There are three of them, "What's really going on?", "Don't assume" and "Your situation".  I believe even if I wasn't a Realtor they would make me think twice about what is going on in our little part of the world.

The RE/MAX of Texas convention was held in San Antonio this year.  I was so glad to run into SO MANY ActiveRainers right here in my hometown!  It seemed instead of a RE/MAX convention it became an AR get together!  I couldn't wait to get back to my computer to share the pictures of everyone I met.

Conserve Agua San Antonio! - 02/10/09 02:49 PM
The water situation in San Antonio & surrounding cities is getting seriously serious.  I talked about it earlier this week but felt compelled to bring it up again.  We are looking at Stage 1 water restrictions if the aquifer falls below 660 feet (it was 667 2/6/09 - 4 days ago).  We had another sprinkle today but it turned out to be all talk & no action AGAIN!.

San Antonio has been experiencing a severe drought that covers over 42% of Texas as a whole.  The most parched areas include San Antonio and Austin with brush fires being reported all over.  San Antonio is looking at some severe water restrictions around the corner if we don't get some rain QUICK!We might be in luck for a bit of a reprieve, here's what the sky looked like Friday AM:

Another one of Eddie V's restaurant right next door to Wildfish Seafood Grille is Roaring Fork.  Set out to be "Bold American cuisine, creating flavors that crackle with a rugged edge" we had to try it out. 

I made reservations online which was very helpful & quick, we arrived around 7:30 on a Tuesday night.  It didn't seem to be very busy at all. 
The place has sort of a romantic feel to it, dim lights, candles, booths as well as tables.

The San Antonio Board of Realtors has released it's MLS stats for December 2008.   
Here are the high spots:  
The top FOUR sales prices for homes that sold in December, 2008 for San Antonio, Texas were:    
1.  $120,000 to $139,999 (at 166 homes sold). 
2.  $100,000 to $119,999 (at 116 homes sold).
3.  $140,000 to $159,999  (TIED @ 116 homes sold).
4.  $200,000 to $249,999 (added a fourth since it was so close @ 114 homes)

Days on market is below, the highest amount was 120+ with the lowest in the 91-120 days time frame.
