Hiring a professional Property Manager VS. doing it on your own! - 02/23/09 08:19 PM
The dynamics of owning a home and living in it are much different than owning a home and renting it out. There are many steps involved in making sure the person who rents your home is the right fit. From advertising the home to showing the home, running background checks on the potential renter, etc. The fees involved in letting a professional property manager do those things fro your are well worth it considering the headaches & heartaches it can save you. Let Moran Property Management professionally manage your rental property for you. Below is a diagram of all that is involved in having a rental (13 comments)
Looking for a mani/pedi in San Antonio, Texas? Try T's Nails - 02/23/09 11:44 AM
There's a new, cute & clean little pedicure & manicure (etc.) shop that opened in San Antonio recently. It's a hop, skip and a jump from my house, i've been passing it for weeks now, so I was excited to finally try it out. Located on the access road of 1604 right past Braun & before Bandera road you will find T's Nails
I popped in on a Saturday without an appointment and was seen right away for a pedicure. The pedicure chairs have a massager in them. There was nothing like sitting back, checking my emails on my phone, watching (6 comments)
I've got a BRAND new Braun to brag about! (San Antonio, Texas) - 02/22/09 10:22 AM
This might look like a regular road to some, but to me and other Wildhorse residents and San Antonians who live and work in the area, it means so much more. To us, this road means tenacity, productivity, freedom, frustration, suffocation & hard work. Alright, that might be a tad dramatic. The road on the left has been under construction for about two years and now is COMPLETE! A two lane road is what it was prior to going under construction about two years ago, frustrating Wildhorse residents who live in the neighborhood, making people late to work because of the population in that area while the construction was going (22 comments)
Why I love living in San Antonio! Reason #3: RODEO! - 02/18/09 09:04 PM
Welcome to the 3rd installment of "Why I love living in San Antonio!". If you missed my reason #1 & reason #2 you can check them out but now it's time for my #3 Reason for continuing to be in love with San Antonio! Reason #3: RODEO! One small word that means different things to different folks. I have been going to the RODEO for as long as I can remember. RODEO to me means: Cowboys, cotton candy, mutton bustin', roller coasters, bull riding, entertainers, carnival rides, nachos, beer, cattle roping, shopping and clowns! All of these equal fun! Want to attempt to inflict the least amount of harm on the environment everyday vs. just on Earth Day? We started seeing it quite awhile back in San Antonio's super markets and admitted re-usable bags are the way to go. We decided to jump on the eco-friendly band wagon with our own bags:This bag is made of non-woven polypropylene, it's tough, water resistant, reliable and recylclable! If you are in the San Antonio area, we would love to send one your way. Send us your address & help us spread the word about being environmentally friendly one trip at a time by (16 comments)
Ask a Texas Realtor........have you heard? - 02/14/09 06:41 PM
If you haven't heard the new radio spots put out from the Texas Association of Realtors (TAR) you are really missing out. Each time I hear one I smile. There are three of them, "What's really going on?", "Don't assume" and "Your situation". I believe even if I wasn't a Realtor they would make me think twice about what is going on in our little part of the world.
There are so many misconceptions about what is going on created by the media, TAR is "taking matters into their own hands" and educating the public to the truth of the Texas Real (10 comments)
ActiveRain overdose! - 02/13/09 04:49 PM
The RE/MAX of Texas convention was held in San Antonio this year. I was so glad to run into SO MANY ActiveRainers right here in my hometown! It seemed instead of a RE/MAX convention it became an AR get together! I couldn't wait to get back to my computer to share the pictures of everyone I met.
We met these two lovely ladies again, Tara Campbell & Paula Flores from Killeen, Texas. Paula still hasn't BLOGGED but I think she's thinking about it? Next up was the one and only Cheryl Fairbanks from Southlake, Texas. I was psyched to FINALLY meet her in person! Cheryl is (38 comments)
Conserve Agua San Antonio! - 02/10/09 02:49 PM
The water situation in San Antonio & surrounding cities is getting seriously serious. I talked about it earlier this week but felt compelled to bring it up again. We are looking at Stage 1 water restrictions if the aquifer falls below 660 feet (it was 667 2/6/09 - 4 days ago). We had another sprinkle today but it turned out to be all talk & no action AGAIN!.
It is predicted that there is "over watering" at this point because folks are preparing for the restrictions that are expected to come within the next two weeks. With all the brush fires that are (15 comments)
Could it really, truly be RAIN in SA? - 02/08/09 03:25 PM
San Antonio has been experiencing a severe drought that covers over 42% of Texas as a whole. The most parched areas include San Antonio and Austin with brush fires being reported all over. San Antonio is looking at some severe water restrictions around the corner if we don't get some rain QUICK!We might be in luck for a bit of a reprieve, here's what the sky looked like Friday AM: It turned out to be a trick as no rain came at all, here's what's predicted though: I've been doing the rain dance for weeks so I hope it works! Roaring Fork ~ Wood Fired cooking ~ San Antonio, Texas - 02/07/09 08:33 PM
Another one of Eddie V's restaurant right next door to Wildfish Seafood Grille is Roaring Fork. Set out to be "Bold American cuisine, creating flavors that crackle with a rugged edge" we had to try it out.
I made reservations online which was very helpful & quick, we arrived around 7:30 on a Tuesday night. It didn't seem to be very busy at all. The place has sort of a romantic feel to it, dim lights, candles, booths as well as tables.
We looked at the menu and decided to start with the fried avocado. It was delightful. It has a (9 comments)
