properties san antonio: Finding a good loan officer is KEY! - 10/10/08 06:17 PM
The best thing that has come out of what is going on with the mortgage crisis is consumer awareness.  Those that didn't pay attention before to their mortgage, the terms, the rates, the buzz words, now ARE.  Educating themselves of how to get a loan, what the process is, fixed rates vs. variable rates, ARM's, Balloon's, etc.  If you didn't know what these terms meant before, I bet you do now.
Home-buyers are learning to ask questions & know how to get the answers they need.  A good loan officer can assure you peace of mind throughout your loan application and all the … (4 comments)

I have one word for you EXCEPTIONAL, you will not be dissapointed, it is money WELL spent.  In fact I would have paid twice what we paid for this spectacular show.
I am a huge Wizard of Oz fan so Wicked was right up my alley.

properties san antonio: Saving for a new home in today's market~ - 10/04/08 11:38 AM
Saving for a new home can be stressful and less of a reality than one would like to make it.  It is very doable.  Start small with a savings account for that new home.  Pay yourself first with every paycheck putting more and more away until you make homeownership a reality.  The pros far outweigh the cons:
Why it's difficult to save -
New additions to your family  Automobiles need repair or replacement Furniture wears out Major appliances need repair or replacement Medical expenses occur Rent increases are inevitable HOWEVER-
Homeownership creates an automatic savings program for you & your family!
Tax deductions for … (3 comments)

properties san antonio: ~San Antonio, Texas is hooked on recycling~ You can be too! - 09/22/08 06:04 AM
San Antonio's H-E-B grocery stores can help you out & show you how.  I have seen these little recycling bins outside the main doors of H-E-B for months & recently started paying attention.

It's a convenient way to bring back your used shopping bags, dry cleaning bags, newspaper bags & stretch film.  How convenient & fun! You can get your kids involved by talking to them about how they can help save the environment.
An even better idea is to buy the reusable bags H-E-B has for sale.  A couple of bags holds a ton of groceries & helps save the environment.  The bags … (2 comments)

properties san antonio: Fun, not business, draws visitors to San Antonio - 09/20/08 03:44 PM
I read an interesting article in San Antonio's (only) paper the San Antonio Express News by Carlos Guerra.  Unlike the name of the article the meat & potatoes of the writing focused on money for convention centers in San Antonio that was money misspent in his opinion.
Well, probably alot of SA's residents opinion, BUT, so not my point.

What was of interest to me was the point (which wasn't expanded upon) that Tourism is no longer the city of San Antonio's largest employer.  That the "tourism" department of SA wasn't hurting so much after 9/11 because we weren't as HUGE as … (8 comments)

What a delicious environment, meal & experience.  Piatti's has lunch, dinner, dessert & a wine list. All of my favorite things!

properties san antonio: First Time Homebuyers - Steps for Success! - 09/10/08 04:10 PM
I recently worked with a first time homebuyer.  She was a referral with perfect credit, cash in the bank & a stable, good paying job.  As a first time buyer she was very excited and stressed at the same time. She had a ton of questions, as well, she should have.  Buying a home is a big deal!!  I like working with first time homebuyers because they ask questions, the basic ones. They tend to listen to your answers and value professional opinions.  It reminds me they are all pretty much in the same boat.  In need of our guidance.
