Tell me something good! - 02/25/09 12:32 AM
Okay, I was going to go to bed, but...I decided I wanted to post a few more photos here. This is such an amazing time - I'm hoping some of the people in the photos will just see these and remember what fun they were having or what insights they were sharing when these photos were taken.
There are five questions I ask myself, most days. It's how I start my day...one of the questions is "What am I most grateful for?" I have an extraordinary number of things to be grateful for, and these pictures are some of the people … (4 comments)

Keller Williams Premier Partners! In Orlando - 02/24/09 11:51 PM
Oh, Yeah! Another year, another award... Today is the last big day of the KW Family Reunion. I had mixed emotions about this last day of break out sessions and amazing speaker presentations - I'm exhausted, but there is so much more to learn!
The first session I attended this morning started at 8:00 a.m. I attended sessions until 5:45. I would have gone to Gary Keller's Quantum Leap, but wanted to learn to have more productive open houses. Tough choices, but neither choice would have been wrong. Anyways, at about 6:00 pm a couple hundred of us loaded up in … (6 comments)

Monday Market in Vancouver: Last week of February - 02/23/09 07:48 PM
Increasing Action in Vancouver, Washington Market Snapshot 2009/02/23 Signs of spring in the numbers. Today, we have 545 homes in the system as pending, an increase over last week. There are 677 for all of Clark County, including Vancouver. There are 4240 homes for sale in Clark County with 3249 of those in Vancouver area, fewer this week than last. That puts our Vancouver ratio of homes under contract versus homes available at about 1 to 5.9.
For home sales that actually completed, there were 31 again this week, same as last week.I've talked to several people in affiliated industries such … (0 comments)

I don't want to go to bed! - 02/22/09 11:44 PM
Day 2 at Keller Williams Love Fest or...I'm so tired! This is the second day of the Keller Williams Family Reunion (KWFR) 2009 (KWFR09). It's the first official day though. Yesterday, Gary Keller gave his version of inspirational, and indeed it was. Today he gave his 'Vision' talk.
WOW!
I'm exhausted, so my notes here will be brief and general. Maybe later I'll elaborate or edit. Anyways, There were several excellent breakout sessions today. My day started with a talk by Wendy Patton on the topic of serving investors. Her talk was entertaining and energized. More importantly it was chock full … (3 comments)

Kaiser Shipyard Era home - 3 bedroom, 2 bath and garage - 02/22/09 01:21 AM
This home is a real steal! Not that we want you stealing anything...
Originally built as a two bedroom, 1 bath workman's cottage during the Kaiser Shipyard building era (1940s), with a full basement, this home has been improved upon. The basement now houses a large bedroom and bathroom with shower making this a 3 bedroom, 2 bath (okay, 1 and 3/4 bath) home. Among many features this beauty has to offer is the hardwood floors, the updated kitchen, and unique feng-shui influence in colors within. Outside there is a delightful one-car pull-through garage and an ultra private backyard. Oh! And … (0 comments)

Being KW, In Orlando - 02/22/09 12:13 AM
Who can resist a Family Reunion? Okay, so what we're really doing in Orlando! I am currently in Orlando, Florida. So are about 50 of my fellow Keller Williams Premier Partners agents. And we are joining several thousand other Keller Williams (KW) agents from around North America.
Last night I was invited to dinner next door. Lloyd cooked. And let me tell you, this former restaurant owner knows his way around the kitchen and around the wine isle! It was a great finish for a long travel day!

Monday Market in Vancouver: It's Not the Worst It's Been - 02/17/09 12:25 AM
Increasing Action in Vancouver, Washington Market Snapshot 2009/02/15 Tightest active to pending ratio since July of last year! This week there are 3282 homes for sale, 524 under contract and last week, 31 sales were finalized. This is looking better, from a selling point of view. Buyers definitely have the advantage, but it may be that sellers are not having to take it on the chin this week.
I haven't checked it myself, but someone mentioned to me that housing affordability has improved. The next several weeks should see an increasing number of closed sales if that's the case, I'm supposing … (1 comments)

Oh! What A Night! - 02/09/09 01:51 PM
Keller Williams Hosts the Art Walk A Good Time Had By All! The First Friday Art Walk in Vancouver happens, well, the first Friday of every month. The Vancouver Downtown Association (VDA) is the primary sponsor of the event. Occasionally, certain businesses will host a reception for the art walk. So, just like last year, certain Keller Williams agents put together a great reception as a way of showing client appreciation, and as local suport of the downtown businesses. We have the honor of having been the first reception of the new year.
Today, I'm posting some of the pictures I … (2 comments)

Monday Market in Vancouver: Coming into Spring - 02/09/09 12:48 PM
Increasing Action in Vancouver, Washington Market Snapshot 2009/02/08 More homes for sale, more homes under contract this week. There are 3306 homes for sale in the Vancouver area. Up from last week's 3265. There are 476 contracts on their way to transfer of title, up from last week's 463. That meeans the ratio closed just a tad (or maybe a smidge). This increase in numbers is typical for the time of year (post Superbowl!).
But I noticed something odd... There were only 27 sales recorded last week. Two weeks prior we had only 18 record, and 44 last week. Compare that … (0 comments)

Monday Market in Vancouver: Are Buyers Returning? - 02/03/09 09:27 AM
More Sales in Vancouver, Washington Market Snapshot 2009/02/02 Homes available compared to homes under-contract dipped slightly this week. Last week's weird anomaly disappeared this week as evidenced by the 44 homes recorded as under contract. The number of homes available shrank to 3265 from 3329 the previous week.
It's still solidly a buyer's market. But a change in ratio from 8.2 homes for sale for every one selling the first week of January to 7.0 at the end of January is encouraging.
Over half the sales are in price ranges under $250,000. I was expecting to see some more movement above … (0 comments)

How 'bout some cheese with that whine? - 02/01/09 03:55 PM
Sophisticated, Seductive, Complex, and Full-Bodied. Fine wines, fine women; aging improves us both! Who knew how much fun bottling my wine would be? We, Robin, Lynn, and Courtney, didn't actually know, but it turns out it was great fun!
Way back before - sometime in the summer, I think - I watched Louie mix the components that would be 'my wine'. Actually, I guess it was November? December? of 2007 that I attended one of Bader's Wine & Food Pairing events. And it was there that I encountered the 'Pacific Quartet' wine. That week I ordered the kit. It came within … (1 comments)

Who Stole My TomTom? - 02/01/09 02:43 PM
Last night, some lowlife took something. My sense of peace. So here I am, a proponent of walkable communities. And resenting the sidewalk outside my house that made it easy for a trespasser to get inside my car and steal from me. Right at the moment, having a community infra-structure that encourages strangers walking past my house is not feeling so good.
The responsibility is mine, I suppose. If I'd locked the car door, perhaps the little weasle would have continued on. Or maybe it would have broken my window, costing me much more inconvenience and money. Maybe if I'd brought … (4 comments)
