marketing: Real Estate SEO: Inside the Minds of 900 Social Media Marketers - 04/13/09 05:54 PM
Echoed from Chris Crum over at WebProNews and a Twitter post I received earlier today regarding Michael's AWESOME and incredibly insightful social media marketing report...
Hats off to author and WebProNews Blog Partner Michael Stelzner, who authored a timely and statistically valid white paper about what some 900 online social media marketers, many of whom are small business folks - like we Real Estate Professionals - think about using the medium as a means of growing their business.
Some of the more interesting statistics from the report include:
Females edged out males, representing 56% of all participants 88% indicated they … (2 comments)

marketing: Complicate Your Email: Your Customers Will Thank You for It - 01/14/09 09:41 PM
I have been thinking a lot about emails lately in terms of what makes them seem more personal and less like SPAM.  It's funny, but the more technology allows us to connect - even with true friends, colleagues, and customers (both internal and external), the more we risk alienating them with canned and HTML laden emails.
I know they're sexy... but do you normally send personal emails loaded with graphics and HTML? If the answer is yes, then I suppose you can keep up the habit.  However, if it hits my email box and we've just started our business relationship, it's … (0 comments)

marketing: Pissed me Off... Friggin Jerk! OR Sometimes it's a Good Idea to Fire One Off! - 11/23/08 09:24 AM
Wow.  I just read a doosie of a post by our friend and colleague, Mr. Brian Brady of World Wide Wealth Advisors, entitled Spending Your Way to a Better Retirement? In this post, Brian responds to an article written by Logan Jenkins of the San Diego Union Tribune in which Jenkins suggests that the only way to save the economy is for Americans to open up our wallets and start spending.  A quote from Jenkins' article is provided as follows:
"We showed the terrorists by taking to the skies – and taking vacations. We expressed our courage by going out to … (4 comments)

marketing: When You "Eat Your Words," Do They at Least Taste Good? - 11/22/08 11:36 PM
I'm a latecomer to all things Seth Godin. As such, I've only just come across his YouTube posts. This is the first one I watched, and I loved it. Now, I am assuming that they're not all as campy as this one, but hey - I love the "camp," so it worked for me!

Here's the direct link to this video.
So, what's your favorite Seth Godin YouTube Video and why? Chime and and, if possible, include the URL in your comment! We'd love to check it out!

marketing: Marbles in the Bucket: Building Success with Active Rain - 11/03/08 10:03 AM
I remember the first analogy ever expressed to me about marketing to build sales:
"It's like feeding marbles into a bucket through a long pipe.  Don't wait for each marble to reach the bucket, just keep feeding them in."
When first joined Active Rain, I was a the tail end of a week of a Social Networking Site subscription frenzy.  In that week, I'd signed on or modified accounts for Facebook, my Wordpress Blog, Twitter, and Ezine.
I populated my profiles, added in pertinent job qualifications and experience, and posted articles that attempted to share some of my thoughts and … (9 comments)

marketing: Increase Sales by Nurturing Your Clients - 08/02/08 07:48 PM
Today’s real estate prospects know more about the housing market than ever before. In fact, thanks to the Internet, there’s a good chance that most of the information many Realtors provide in FREE consultations has already been digested - leaving your unique expertise left for you to prove. Like no other time before, prospects today are distrustful until they see results and above all – they just don’t want to be sold. They are pinched for time and have little patience for anything that comes across like old hat hard sell advertising. For this reason, we must find ways to interact … (13 comments)
