Best Hiking Trail in the Desert as voted by readers of the Desert Sun!

The Bump and Grind Trail continues to be the best and most popular hiking trail in the Coachella valley!  Also known as the Mirage Trail, it is centrally located, has mostly wide paths, and sweeping panoramic views.  This steep foot trail can be executed only by the most fit mountain bikers. The Bump and Grind trail starts with a very steep, switchback climb, that zig-zags straight up about 600 feet up the mountain face. Follow the fire road to your left all the way up, … (5 comments)

My New Favorite Closing Gift--One of a Kind - 03/25/11 08:54 PM

My new favorite closing gift came from my new favorite hobby.  I began oil painting a couple of months ago with a local class-- I had always wanted to begin painting, especially since my Mother had been an artist and had left me her paints, brushes and some canvases when she passed away.  I feel such a special connection to her when I am using her materials to create something new.
I had only completed 2 paintings when Russel Ray suggested I do a painting of my clients new home as a closing gift.  So I began last … (10 comments)

Great News! First Home in La Quinta Country Club to sell for over $1,000,000 in over 2 Years! - 03/25/11 02:55 PM
First home to sell in La Quinta Country Club over $1,000,000 in over 2 Years!

I had the listing last season on this beautiful custom built home on the 10th fairway at La Quinta

Country Club and finding a buyer willing to pay over $1,000,000 proved to be a difficult task.  We actually had a $1,000,000 cash offer that my sellers turned down.  This year I brought them a buyer who not only paid cash... he was willing to pay $1,025,000 and close within 11 days!
As a closing gift I am working on a painting of the home … (7 comments)

Juggling Deals and Staying Focused! Hot in La Quinta! - 03/18/11 01:26 AM
My business is hot right now-- I have several offers in the works...some short-sales pending and wrote a new offer last week on a $million-dollar listing... closing in under 14 days!  But sometimes with all these balls in the air--  it is hard to stay focused and prioritize.  It helps me so much to make lists-- and take some time to breathe.  I am also very lucky to have a team of great agents to rely on for support.  My broker is always there to answer questions-- and our transaction coordinator works the best when she is under the gun!

Vietnamese Restaurant in the Desert - 03/16/11 07:31 PM
There is a brand new Authentic Vietnamese Restaurant in La Quinta!  PHO VU just opened 8 days ago, but the crowded
restaurant seemed to be humming along today at lunchtime.  We arrived a little after noon and there was a short wait for a table... a good sign!
PHO VU specializes on Pho/Noodles with fresh rice noodles in an aromatic broth with additions like eye round steak, brisket, meatballs, chicken, shrimp, veggies, tofu, and others.  They also have Bun/Vermicelli Bowls with grilled BBQ pork, grilled marinated chicken, shrimp, and even catfish.  They also have the traditional spring rolls, fried squid, and … (7 comments)

Do You Share Your Art with Your Clients and Friends.... You Should! - 03/14/11 01:10 AM
I began an oil painting class a few weeks ago and have really enjoyed it.  I have shared my progress on a few paintings on facebook... and the response has been really incredible... and fun! Because of my new hobby I have made so many new connections-- I have joined not only my art class, but a "women's art group", and connected with many art lovers as well.
It has been a wonderful experience and it has created a whole new avenue for meeting people and sharing a passion for art.  Here is my first painting... the 3 Amigos... from the … (14 comments)

Do You Help Your Clients "Picture" Themselves in Their New Home? - 03/11/11 01:44 AM
Today I showed a Million dollar home to the wife of a client-- she brought her friends.  This can be great-- or terrible, depending on the friends, and their take on the property.  Luckily today-- both she
and her friends LOVED it!  We took some pictures of what will be her new desert home... and sent them to her husband!
She said, "just write 'SOLD' for a caption"!
I did not write "SOLD" ... I wrote,
"AWESOME"! And e-mailed it to her husband...
he called a few minutes later and said--
"Let's make an offer!"
Picture your clients in their … (3 comments)
