Last Season's Tourists are This Season's Serious Buyers! - 09/30/11 07:56 PM

Last season I actually counseled a couple to lease instead of buy.  They were not sure if this was the area for them.  They did not know if they would like  the neighborhood or the golf course.  So I encouraged them to lease for a few months to discover if this was the place they wanted to be.
I made sure they had all the information they needed about the neighborhood and the community-- dining, events, hiking, churches, schools, recreation.  They did their research.
Throughout the summer months I kept in touch with them and sent them lease listings as … (4 comments)

Post Your Caravan to Facebook Album:
"MAKE AN OFFER ON THIS HOUSE"!

We have a home tour each Monday morning in our office.  We all take turns researching the homes and leading the tours in neighborhoods where we work, or have been showing homes.  Last week I lead the tour through my La Quinta Country Club neighborhood-- where I live, and have several listings.  I try to feature the "best deals", and share home in different price ranges.

Best Hot Dog in the Desert: Bobby's Coney Island Dog! - 09/28/11 05:14 PM
This family-run eatery, on Highway 111 in La Quinta, across from the"other best hot dog" at Costco. It has been open a little more than a week and today at lunch it was packed!  The owners are from the Detroit area-- and also carry some Greek items and other Detroit area favorites.
Bobby's is open for breakfast and lunch-- with egg dishes in the morning-- but the reason to come here is the Coney Island style HOT DOG!

If you are in the mood for some serious seafood... you might be surprised that the desert area has two Crab Pot restaurants!  One in Rancho Mirage along the famous "restaurant row"  and the other in the charming Old Town La Quinta neighborhood!
The Crab Pot at Rancho Mirage joins the La Quinta Crab Pot in offering desert dwellers a taste of the sea and the popular Northwest custom where folks gather to enjoy freshly caught salmon, crab, and steamed shellfish. First launched on Seattle’s historic waterfront by owner Hal Griffith, Crab Pots are in Washington and Long Beach, Calif.

Firefighters Respond Unselfishly to Palm Springs Wildfire - 09/25/11 02:23 PM

We were having dinner last night with friends in Desert Hot Springs when we saw the mountain below the Tram begin to glow and then ribbons of fire appeared moving quickly up the hillside.  The wildfire blaze  began around 7pm last night near Windy Point north of Palm Springs and this morning it had burned over 300 acres and was only 10% contained.
Over 120 local and neighboring firefighters responded and began diverting the fire with bulldozers from the roads and homes in the area.  No injuries have been reported and thanks to all the firefighters who stayed up all … (2 comments)
