livethedesertlifecom: Difficult Clients or Difficult Times - 11/17/09 09:49 AM
What can we do to make our transactions run more smoothly?  With difficult clients it may mean calling them everyday...I mean a call from us, our Broker, our TA, and our Escrow Officer.  Is this what it means to provide good service ?  Some deals breeze through without alot of friction or fuss- others bump along and take wide swings left right up down!  Is hand-holding the new norm... or is it just a sign of the times?  Are you noticing more buyers and sellers stressing out and needing more from us??

livethedesertlifecom: Is it true? Now is the time to buy and sell real estate? - 11/15/09 09:14 AM

Is it a good time to buy and sell real estate?
The perception is that REALTORs are always trying to convince their clients to buy or sell real estate each and any time. But the reality is that when the buyers or sellers are on the verge of making a decision, they are the people who make that decision based on the information they have, and how they process that information.
As such, it is always a good idea to stay abreast of the real estate market movement and factors that are affecting --- or  effecting --- that movement.

How often do we turn on the news and see a sad story?  Or how often do we hear about the positive things kids do?  Well I think we need to talk about the positive, upbeat, and good things our kids are doing...
Amelia Earhart Elementary Elementary School in Indio, CA collected over 300 pounds of candy and stuffed animals for the Army National Guard.  FedEx shipped the boxes for free!    This was the schools way of giving back to or troops and participating in Operation Gratitude.  If you would like to participate you can send candy and stuffed animals also.

I always watch Fox NFL Sunday--- and thought the show today was timely and TERRIFIC !!  Here from Mike Saunders--
I usually don't turn the on the TV on Sunday until later in the evening. However, today I did the unusual and decided to watch a little before lunch. After flipping through channels I settled on the FOX NFL Sunday pregame show and was very surprised to see team all in military fatigues.
I initially thought it was just in celebration of Veteran's Day this week, and, I was only slightly wrong. The FOX NFL Sunday team has spent the previous … (0 comments)

livethedesertlifecom: Making utility boxes beautiful in La Quinta, California - 11/07/09 05:03 AM

Everyone knows what an eyesore utility boxes are, but they are necessay as we all need electricity so we live with them.  The city of La Quinta has decided to hire an artist named Julie Kirk to turn these boxes into a masterpiece.  Each utility box is in the process of being painted with the theme of La Quinta in mind.  Mountain scenes, desert scenes, wildflowers and more.  I happened to pass one on my way to work today and wow do they look nice.  No longer an eyesore, but something to gaze upon as art.  Once again, I am … (3 comments)

livethedesertlifecom: The ActiveRain Nature Channel: The Jumping Cholla - 11/07/09 04:58 AM

Although many cactus species have thorns, they really aren't any more thorny or dangerous than the mighty rose, and many cactus (and succulents) have flowers to match the rose while requiring far less maintenance and care.
There are two cactus species that I, and many others, do consider flat-out dangerous. One of them is the Jumping Cholla (Cylindropuntia fulgida).
I used to have one of these in my garden, a little one about a foot tall, but after accidentally stepping into it one day and not being able to walk for two years, I decided that it was even too … (3 comments)

Tonite I had a call from our Escrow Officer, Denise Dupont, Oasis Escrow-- she was working late, of course.  She had just spoken to one of my clients to help clear up some details on a deal.  I asked her what time he had called her--- and she said... livethedesertlifecom: What are you wearing for Halloween?? - 10/29/09 06:07 PM
I read a post from Shirley Parks about the top costumes for Halloween this year--- I must be out of touch, because I did'nt recognize most of them.... When I was a kid-- I picked the costume I could run the fastest in! That way I could cover more ground and come home with the MAX candy! I did'nt really care if I was spooky or cute... it was all about that pillow case full of loot! As long as I could wear my sneakers and wasn't covered in cardboard or wearing a dress.... I was happy! Wishing you a HAPPY … (1 comments)
