Are you ready to get trotting La Quinta? Plan on working off those Thanksgiving pounds by running in the annual Turkey Trot! The 16th Annual Turkey Trot is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, Thursday., November 27 at 7:30 a.m. This year's race will start and end on Main Street in Old Town La Quinta.
The 5k run/walk will have a fast, flat course with beautiful desert landscape and panoramic views of the Santa Rosa Mountains. The race is suitable for all ages and levels of runners/walkers as well as dogs on leashes. There is plenty of free … (2 comments)

Today I am working in our California Lifestyle office in Old Town La Quinta and it is also the Art Under the Umbrellas event!
When I arrived at 9:00am the artists were all setting up their booths with displays of their artwork, pottery, scultures, and jewelry!
Art Under the Umbrellas is held from 10:00am to 4:00pm on the following Saturdays in Old Town La Quinta: January 11, January 18, February 1, February 15 & March 22, 2014.
Admission and parking are FREE!

I am very excited about this exhibit-- the first artist mentioned, George Rhoads, is a client of mine. He and his wife Laura bought their La Quinta Cove home from me last year! They came out in the heat of the summer from New York and we found them the perfect La Quinta home in the cove!

La Quinta Hotel Celebrates 85th Anniversary! The La Quinta historical society is celebrating the 85th anniversary of the La Quinta Hotel!
Walter Morgan and Fred Ickes are said to have dreamed up the idea of a desert getaway. It took them a year to find La Quinta, says Barbara Irwin, former Historical Society president. Irwin will lead a walking tour and high tea Saturday, sharing highlights of the hotel’s evolution from the six-room hideaway Morgan opened in December 1926 to today’s La Quinta Resort & Club with nearly 800 casitas, suites and villas.
