A call for action: Be nice to new agents! Being the new guy at any level- professionally, scholastically, and even in your own neighborhood, is never easy. In real estate, being the new agent can be both exasperating and lonely. Here are a few reflections on my early days as a new agent. 1) The "Why isn't anyone talking to me?" syndrome. Anyone who lives in the fine neighborhood of East Village and hasn't visited the San Diego Zoo- shame on you! You may not realize just how close this fabulous world-renowned attraction is to Downtown. Heck, you can practically walk there- it's only a few miles. Need more enticement? San Diego Downtown residents can look forward to a few special nights at Petco Park, located in the East Village neighborhood Downtown. The 2011 Petco Park Concert Series will include three dates later this summer. On Saturday, August 20th, Dierks Bentley will perform following the Padres/Florida Marlins 5:35pm game. On Saturday, September 17th, the concert will feature the band "MercyMe" immediately following the 5:35pm Padres/Arizona Diamondback game. As a transplanted Bostonian, I am continually amazed at just how lucky we Downtown residents are to have a professional baseball team in our back yard with all the benefits of affordability and charm. Yes, the Padres are not a year-in and year-out contender, but so what? They play the highest level of baseball in the world, and mark my words will be a good team again within three years.
