galveston texas real estate: How you can gain major SEO LOVE simply in a name. - 10/10/10 01:41 PM
I see some great agents who have wonderful sites that are ranked well, however they might have an easier time of it if they would not have named their website www.myname.com. Yes we want to brand our names to our business however Google is a robot that does not know www.sallyisbest.com has anything to do with her market.  Your URL should have your search terms in the name if at all possible yet this may be far to late for some markets.  My website is named www.galveston4sale.com and I have remained on first page Google for many years 9since 2004( YET … (0 comments)

galveston texas real estate: Do you want to be found in the search engines? WELL did you search and you can see for yourself! - 10/10/10 01:25 PM
I just made a post about my stupidity with a lead service which reminds me that I get about 6 emails a week and a few phone calls a day asking if I would like  to be first page Google for the search terms in my area. I have been for all the search terms that mean anything since 2004.  I find it funny that any company would pay employees to make a call, hence costing them money when they could simply do a Google search when finding us in whatever manner they employ.  If I did want to move up … (0 comments)

We have received a visit fro Presidents Bush and Clinton.  They will now kick start the effort to raise money for the damage that Hurricane Ike caused to our Island.  THEY ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP AND THE HELP OF OUR NATION.  THE SAME HLEP MANY GAVE TO THE VICITIMS OF KATRINA.
I just help but feel like Galveston have not received the press coverage … (1 comments)

galveston texas real estate: The devastation of Galveston by Ike. - 10/13/08 05:10 PM
I have not had much time to post due to the changes Ike borough to our lives.  I wanted to post a few pictures I took just days after the storm.  I have so much to say about this storm, Galveston, lack of media coverage, lack of govt support, and of course real estate in Galveston.  Right now I think these photos will speak for themselves.  Say a prayer for the people we so hold dear in our hometown.  My brother got 12 feet of water while most of my friends lost their homes as well.  Many Galveston agents are not even able … (10 comments)

galveston texas real estate: Mirror, Mirror on the wall Who is the FAIREST of them all?? - 08/12/08 05:39 PM

My blog entry comes today after much annoyance, stress, and a few other emotions I just don't think fit into this forum.  I pose the question to you all.
Is fairness part of real estate?  Is it FAIR to make a buyer wait 3 months for a home that was 90% done when his offer was excepted?  Is it far that this buyer had to pay an extra, unexpected months rent with no consideration for a contribution from the seller to cover this cost?  Is it far that this builder believes agents should not get paid so much … (4 comments)

galveston texas real estate: Show me the $$$$$ - 05/15/08 09:52 AM
So I had an interesting offer come in yesterday.  It was low and that is fine (within workable range), but what was so interesting is that the buyers agent has no idea how the buyer plans to pay. She sent over an incorrect  3rd party financing agreement just in case he decided to go with a loan.  She thinks a family member must be paying because he stated he has 100% financing (a lender want give you 100% on a condo, just 90%).  She also told me he may be borrowing money from a family member, or the family member may be getting the loan.  … (4 comments)

galveston texas real estate: Don't discriminate!!! Why the hate??? - 09/03/07 09:34 PM
Just had a comment from a fellow member is another state.  The basis of his comment was to ridicule me for holding a license in Nevada.  Apparently this makes me lazy among other things.
Excerts from the post are as follows.
All I know is I keep hearing most agents within Nevada are extremely lazy and based on what I understand here it would seem to fit.
Another great comment-  Once again the theory of agents in Nevada has been proven......please try to make it up in the next posts.  I was unaware that there was a theory about Nevada agents???
I hold a license … (1 comments)

galveston texas real estate: Do I not have a right to my opinion on Activerain?????? - 09/03/07 07:36 PM
I just received the following email from an Activerain member.  I ask you if I r/ced this email because she does not agree with my opinion or because I have broken so unknown Acvtiverain rule.  I was under the impression that Activerain allowed us to voice our opinions and reference our websites.  After all they allow active HTML right????  How many of you are here for SEO reasons????  If I can't reference my websites I will not continue to blog in this location.  My whole purpose regarding blogging is to enhance my websites.  II was really appalled by this ladies reaction to … (32 comments)

galveston texas real estate: How many solicitors have your number??? Interesting call just yesterday. - 08/30/07 05:37 PM
I have recently been bombarded with real estate solicitations.  Different parties trying to sell me on this and that.  I had the funniest call yesterday.  A guy from agenttoagentreferal.com, I believe (he never was clear on the URL name) called and said he wanted me to check his site out.  He would send me 10 free referrals.  I naturally asked what my part in the referral system was???  How much are you asking me to pay these referrals???  I never pay for leads.  I create them.  I was told it was free.  They were just hosting this service and giving away free leads because, well … (2 comments)

galveston texas real estate: How many photos should be included in your listing??? What do your photos feature? - 08/30/07 01:53 PM
I often see listings that have maybe 1 or 2 photos.  This seems so sad to me.  How can you only take one photo of a listing?  I take over 10 and use at least 10 in my MLS listings.  On blogs like this I post one photo then I redirect the viewer to the full listing information on my website.  Then they get to see a FULL photo spread plus the details regarding the property. Great for my sites traffic plus you never know hat else they might find once they start browsing. Maybe something that fits there needs even better … (3 comments)
