toronto central east: Five Final Scheme Unveiled for $75 million Competition for St Lawrence Market North Building! - 05/08/10 11:55 AM
St Lawrence market has always been one of my favorite places to get fresh, in season, organic produce. Back in February 2010, five well-known architecture teams battled for winning design in the competition to rebuild the significant downtown landmark -$75 million new North Building of Historic St Lawrence Market. The City expressed that the current one-storey design is under used, and proposed to rebuild a four -storey, sustainable and energy efficient mutli-purpose urban model. The competing designs can be seen at the competition site here. The winning design will be announced on June 7!
