Living in Old Toronto where residential street parking is scarce and governed by restricted hours for non-monthly permit holders, can often pose a challenge for families and friends visiting your home, not to mention the chances of getting a parking ticket if the vehicle exceeds limited time. Project Zero, launched by the Toronto Fire Services, has been making house calls to educate the general public about smoke alarms. The program aims to cut down the number of residential fire deaths to zero. The blitz will ensure that smoke alarms and at least one carbon monoxide alarm be installed at every home, along with safety information and an escape plan. It is the law to have working smoke alarms in the home.
