WelcomeCranberry Twp is located in the southwest corner of Butler County in Western Pennsylvania.  The township is situated where Interstate 76 (PA Turnpike) and Interstate 79 intersect.  A commute that is less than 30 minutes into Downtown Pittsburgh is an attractive bonus those who live in this community.  The wild cranberries that grew along Bush Creek are responsible for the township's name. Long ago the area was surrounded by cranberry bogs which were later drained during the 1800's to make ground for farming. The cranberries are believed to have died out in 1884 from a heat wave.  A successful effort was made between 1989-1991 which brought this native plant back to the area.
