Builder and New Home Construction input needed.... - 05/30/08 11:13 AM
My new Partner and I are working on an opportunity in the building / new construction area.  I have not worked with either a large or small Builder directly in my many years in the business.  John, my Partner, has extensive experience form the painting contractor side, yet is newly licensed.
We are looking for direction on what we can expect the builder will require of us as well as what we can expect to be responsible for in the process....ie...out of pocket money for us.
This potential opportunity is a great break for us, and I know we can handle … (8 comments)

PA Pro-cycling Tour to include Downingtown..... - 05/30/08 10:26 AM
I have become very proud of the direction that Downingtown is taking to show off our great Community.
The events that the Downingtown Area Chamber of Commerce is involved shows its dedication in seeing Downingtown a center of commerce, entertainment and family that will only continue to grow and flourish....the following event is just another example of how this community has involved itself and surrounded an event to make it bigger and better.....

The Lord's Day made brighter...... - 05/18/08 12:16 PM
My family and I attended the 10:30 AM Mass today at St. Joseph's Church and was pleasently reminded that today the Archdiocesan Boy Choir of Philadelphia was there for the Mass.
What a tremendously uplifting performance these young men gave.  The range in ages and voices truly inspired all who attended.  They have performed all around the world and will again this year in Mexico.
I have never heard them before today, yet know I will again.  Below is the tag to their web site.....enjoy

Has the Media gone soft?????? - 05/16/08 10:29 AM
At first I thought I was having a dream......then I realized I was not.
On CNBC this morning they spent a good few minutes on the housing market and mortgage industry, no surprise there.....
The surprise comes that the gist of the conversation had to do with the market stabilizing.....both for the mortgage "crunch" and the housing values.
Do you think that now the general public will realize what most of us professionals have been saying for months now, that besides a few markets, we have been stabilized for quite a while now.  Do you think that there will be more … (25 comments)

Everyday I get to my computer to see what comments I have received back from my prior days comments.
Everyday I get to my computer to see what new programs are available to make my job more efficient and easier.
Everyday I get to my computer to see what new referral's are available from my new family member's.
Everyday I get to my computer to see who I can make contact with that will improve the person I am today.

AR comes through again.......a blast from my past! - 05/08/08 10:06 AM
I wanted to share another good experience I had today thanks to Active Rain.   I received an email via the Active Rain site from a young man I haven't spoke to in probably 5+ years.  He contacted me to let me know where he had been, what he was doing and that he wished to touch base with me to see if he could be of assistance to my business, wow.Joe is in the mortgage industry and in looking to bring his expertise to my market area.  I am happy to meet with him and look forward not only to catching … (8 comments)

Mother's day.....Everyday..... - 05/08/08 09:55 AM
Let me start by wishing all the Mom's out there the very best and happiest Mother's Day.....Beverly my wife and best friend and especially Shannon, the newest Mom I know and the Mother of my grandson, Luke.   I have a true appreciation of the "profession", as I believe that it is one of the hardest and yet most satisfying of all, at least that is what my Mom always said.  My Mom always gave to us, long before she took care of herself.....she was of an old school that everyone ate before her, she never sat still at the table and … (6 comments)

Beautiful Monday morning in Downingtown, PA for a walk..... - 05/05/08 09:22 AM
Starting off the beautiful Monday morning is a great way to get the blood moving here in Downingtown, PA.....the heart of Chester County and a place of growth, change and historic beauty.
I must admit that I have been slacking a bit lately.  My three days a week of racquetball has slid to 1 maybe 2  lately beacuse of work and scheduling...ok my lack of energy.....no one else to blame but me.
That lack of energy has turned into apathy and a BIG change in the waist area......how I yearn for the days of a 38 waist.....LOL
My lovely wife dragged … (6 comments)

What hapened to the key?????? Somtime thing's just happen. - 05/04/08 12:12 PM
I am sure we all have some funny key stories.  No matter how we try to make sure that the house key is secured, there are times when "something" just happens and then, NO KEY.
As I have written, I have a great new partner John McGovern.....and you would know a bit more about him if he ever joined the family here in AR.  Anyway, we showed about 6 homes yesterday morning to a great young couple and their daughter.  John wanted to take the lead and that was great to see.  He opened the doors and got the homes ready … (6 comments)

AARP.....already? - 05/02/08 12:08 PM
Today I received my AARP application in the mail.....and I had hoped that I would not until at least six months before my 50th birthday, not less than a month after my 49th....am I ready for this?
I have always joked about that I looked forward to the 4PM blue plate special.....yet most of my circle dine at 7PM or later....so that will be shelved for now.
The travel discount's will help, yet not for the 9+ month's that our industry is very active......
I see there are insurance benefits.......that will be a help.
I would appreciate any benefits those who have signed on … (8 comments)

Buyer, Buyer why have you pulled a Houdini????? - 05/02/08 11:54 AM
My new partner John and I have been having a discussion this week as to why the Buyer pulls a Houdini.  He can not understand why they are so anxious one day and then do not give you the common respect to return a call or email. the next
We have a young man (married) who met with us on Tuesday.  The meeting went extrmely well, and is a close referral to John.  It turns out that I have a close friend that he works with as well.
We set an appointment to see a home he knows of for sale … (2 comments)
