real estate: The Power of Vendor Referrals - 08/31/15 02:25 AM
When someone offers a service and does exceptional quality work, at a great price, on time, with a great attitude...why wouldn't you refer them to every single friend and client in the future?
I take great pride in attempting to be a "networking machine" for those in my sphere of influence who deserve a referral for future business. It's an absolute joy knowing that because I took a moment to make a tiny effort and pass along a name, number and a few positive comments, this service provider might just pick up another job that helps them feed their family!
Quite often, what … (2 comments)

real estate: The Ultimate Closing Gift! - 04/07/15 05:37 AM
There are so many creative and thoughtful choices when considering a closing gift for our clients. We enjoy showing our gratitude for our clients, and yet we also want to be remembered by our clients. Often, a closing gift is something that we hope will last and perhaps even have our name included somewhere on the gift.
How often are we able to give a long-lasting gift that is on display for all to see, and that truly sparks emotions of gratitude in our client's hearts and minds?

real estate: Is it really a "buyer's market"? Or a "seller's market"? - 06/15/12 03:31 AM
After years in this business I can't help but reflect on a common theme I hear from buyers, sellers and my esteemed colleagues. The concept and often used terminology of "it's a buyer's market", or "it's a seller's market".
Sales managers love to pump up their real estate salespeople by encouraging them that there is no such thing as a good or a bad marketplace....it's either a buyer's or a seller's market, plain and simple. "Now go out there and sell, sell, sell! Server your clients with this wonderful knowledge! It's a buyer's market! Fight for your buyers!"

real estate: Ready to List and Sell Your Home with a Realtor? How Will You Handle the Shadow Inventory Coming to the Market? A Few Thoughts from a Greenville, SC Realtor & Short Sale Listing Agent - 02/07/12 06:59 AM
All signs point towards 2012 being a significant year, in terms of the real estate market gaining a lot of clarity with respect to the movement of shadow inventory (foreclosed, bank-owned homes, pre-foreclosures, short sales and homes heading towards a foreclosure "sale date").
If you're a buyer, you have the perfect buyer's storm to navigate through and come out smelling like a rose! Inventory, competition in the marketplace and resulting downward pressures on home values, more short sales, more foreclosures and historically low mortgage interest rates all make for an exciting moment in history to be a buyer in the real … (0 comments)

real estate: Upside down by about $5k to $6k? Use the $6500 tax credit to help close the gap! - 11/22/09 03:02 PM
I recently had a listing appointment whereas the homeowner would need to bring about $6000 to closing, assuming we sold the home at fair market value. At first the homeowner was somewhat concerned about this scenario, until we discovered they were eligible for the $6500 move up tax credit. How awesome is that? The homeowner was very, very pleased to learn that things could work out, and it would be a wash in the end, without them suffering so much cash out of pocket!
Use the tax credit as a tool to help close the gap in situations where the homeowner … (3 comments)

real estate: Say it loud...say it proud...$6500 move up tax credit for existing homeowners! - 11/22/09 02:47 PM
I'm finding out that many people I'm meeting with who are potential listing clients who will buy a home after they sell have not heard about the $6500 tax credit available to them. Most first time home buyers seem to have their ear to the ground with respect to their $8000 tax credit, but this level of awareness is not always present with existing homeowners. I suggest treating this $6500 tax incentive with equal importance as the $8k tax incentive when speaking to buyers or listing clients. Get the word out there and leverage this thing to help your clients and … (2 comments)
