FICO Credit Scores: Watch Before You Pay Someone Who Says They Can Raise Yours - 05/29/11 11:57 AM
Your FICO credit score now impacts more than just rates for home loans. We may not like it, but it is here to stay. Before you pay some internet outfit who promises they can raise your credit score, check out the video below. Mainers now have a great tool available for free to them from our partners at Reliant Mortgage. Don't live in Maine? First, I'm sorry! Think about it and give me a call if you'd like to relocate here to Vacationland! If you plan on staying where you are, call around to your local mortgage brokers, they may offer (8 comments)
The Sights and Sounds of the Big City of Auburn Maine - 05/28/11 11:39 AM
With a population of about 23,000, Auburn is considered a "big city" here in Maine. True, we do have city amenities such as jobs, paved roads, shopping, and a professional fire department, but I guess we are also lacking in other areas like crime, pollution, and noise. This morning was such a lovely cool damp morning with the birds trying to fill all of the sound space that I thought I'd capture a snippet of life in the "big city" on video. If would like to enjoy Maine Big City Life here in Auburn, give me a call. 207-240-2250. (8 comments)

Spring: Wild Food Abounds in Maine - 05/20/11 09:53 AM
Spring in Maine this year may be a bit chilly and wet, but that hasn't stopped the annual foraging for wild green delicacies. Two local favorites have appeared in abundance this year and can be found everywhere from backyards, fields, to just along the roadside. I'm speaking of course of fiddleheads and pissenlit (otherwise known as the humble dandelion.) The curled up fronds of the ostrich fern are the most prized in my area and show up in produce stands, farmer's markets, and even the grocery store for those who don't wish to spend the time cleaning off the paperlike covering (2 comments)
Now that your home's listing has expired or been withdrawn from your local MLS (Multi List System,) You may be receiving phone calls, mail, and even personal visits from many real estate agents. For many home owners, this brings to mind the question "Where were all of you when my home was still for sale?" The truth is that agents are not allowed to contact you directly while your home is listed with another agent. Most real estate agents are "people" people who truly do want to see homes sell and it can be difficult and even painful to not (15 comments)

We Never Talk Any More! #1 Home Seller Complaint - 05/17/11 06:46 PM
When you first list your home, you seem to hear from your Realtor® all the time. As time goes on, do you find yourself only talking to them when you initiate the call? This is probably the #1 complaint I hear from owners of unsold homes. "When we first listed with him, he seemed so excited about our home. Now we only hear from him when he wants to drop the price or if we call him." In many respects, partnering with a Realtor® to sell your home is like the dating phase of a relationship. Like all relationships, communication is (9 comments)
3 mistakes you can't afford to make when selling your home. The 3 most common mistakes people make when selling their home are also the 3 you can least afford to make. These are the things your Realtor® should be pointing out and working their hardest with you to prevent.
#1 Relying On buyers to "see the potential" in your home. Buyers do not see potential, they only see their own perception of reality. Let's face it, you have spent a lot of time in your home and you know the condition and the potential. Buyers on the (34 comments)

Keller Williams Realty Mid Maine: RED Day 2011: Give Where You Live! - 05/13/11 08:51 PM
Agents, staff, friends, and family of Keller Williams Realty Mid Maine had a great time helping out at The Root Cellar in Lewiston Maine for RED Day 2011. Keller Williams Realty has a strong commitment to volunteerism and giving back to our communities. RED Day is a celebration of that commitment and a chance for Keller Williams Realty offices throughout the continent to conduct volunteer projects all on the same day. The weather here in Lewiston cooperated beautifully. The morning was cooler and slightly cloudy while we worked to clean up the grounds and then nice and sunny when it came (0 comments)
