With a little planning and decision making upfront, you can find the lake home that fits both your budget and your lifestyle. You (4 comments)
Lewiston-Auburn Maine Home Sales Report | Week of May 6-12 2012 - 05/18/12 08:12 AM
The number of new listings is holding steady with an average of 20 homes coming on to the market each week. Nine homes went under contract and three homes closed on their sales for the week of May 6, 2012 through May 12, 2012. We continue to see homes selling very close to, at, or even sometimes above list price. This past week is a good example. One of the three homes sold, sold at 96% of list price and the other 2 sold above their listed price. The greatest activity is occuring for homes listed below $150,000, although we (1 comments)
Lewiston-Auburn Maine Home Sales Report: 04/29/12 - 05/05/12 - 05/10/12 07:35 AM
The number of new listings increased while sales dipped just a bit in the Lewiston-Auburn Maine real estate market for the week of April 29, 2012 through May 5, 2012. This past week's numbers were skewed a little by an extremely low priced bank owned property that sold, bringing the average sale price down, and a home listed by an unrealistic seller that sat on the market for 611 days, bringing the average days on market way up for the week. The home finally sold when they lowered the price to the actual market value. We are generally running about 110 (1 comments)
May 2012 Contest: Electronic Signatures: Just Another Toy or The Best Thing EVER? - 05/08/12 02:38 PM
Before I started using electronic signatures they seemed like a great idea, but I had no idea just how incredibly helpful they would turn out to be. When my company negotiated a deal for the service, I signed right up. I NEVER want to go back to scanning and emailing! You know how that one goes: ...you send the document out to your client, ...who has to find a way to print it out & sign it, ...and then either go somewhere to scan or ...figure out how to use their printers scanning feature, ...only to have it come (2 comments)
Lewiston-Auburn Maine Home Sellers: Are You Having Any Fun Yet? - 05/08/12 05:28 AM
That's right. I said are you having any fun?OK, call me crazy. I guess I'm just one of those irritatingly cheerful people who like to have fun with whatever mundane task I am tackling. I am guilty of playing loud funky music while I vacuum, singing while doing the dishes, and dabbling in "the dusting game" (my mother's invention - as you may imagine it worked like a charm on me as a child.)Now I realize that selling your home is not exactly a mundane task. Whether you have chosen to tackle the job on your own or through a Realtor®, (16 comments)
Can You Afford NOT To Sell Your Home? - 05/07/12 09:51 AM
You have decided that you want to move. Maybe you need more space, or less space, would like a different location, need a new project, would like to leave your current project, want to move into the city, or out to the country. No matter what your motivation for moving, many people end this train of thought with... “Can I afford to sell right now?” Rather than ending your dream of moving, I would encourage you to spring forward into action by asking yourself: “Can I afford NOT to sell right now?”Unless you are truly upside down with your current (3 comments)
The Annual Reallocation Of Resources In Auburn Maine - 05/06/12 11:46 AM
Visitors to Auburn Maine may see the strange assortment of items piled by the curbs as trash, but residents of the area view spring clean up time as a community event. The popular program becomes in danger of receiving the budget crunching axe every year, but somehow pulls through. This year our light winter and the money the city saved due to a decreased need for snow plowing, saved the spring large item pickup program. Yes, the program enables residents to purge their homes and garages of unwanted items that tend to accumulate, but it has other benefits as well. Clearing (2 comments)

In The Absence Of Real Marketing, There Is Syndication - 05/03/12 10:34 AM
In the absence of real marketing, there is syndication. When new sites began to pop up offering additional exposure for property listings, the whole idea seemed like a good one. More online exposure should lead to an increased chance for a successful sale, right? The proverbial smelly substance hit the fan recently when a San Diego agency decided to pull all of their listings from syndication...and did so publicly. You may agree or disagree with their decision, but their actions have certainly caused many to take another look at the topic. Has all of this listing syndication resulted in more sales, better deals, (10 comments)
