The Ocotillo master planned community is holding it's annual community garage sale this Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 7am to 3pm.

The Ocotillo CC&R's restrict home owners from holding garage sales so this is the opportunity for the Ocotillo HOA home owners to have a garage sale.

The Ocotillo community is roughly located between Price Road to the west, Alma School Road to the east, Chandler Height to the south and Queen Creek Road to the North.

Individual home owners can pick up Ocotillo Community Association garage sale directional signs from the HOA management office.

The Arizona Science Center is a great hands-on experience in learning about the wonders of science.  Currently, the Bodyworld and the Brain exhibit is also at the Science Center.  Its is a fantastic look at the human body.

El Día de los Muertos or the Day of the Dead Celebration in Mesa, Arizona on October 30 -October 31. We were in Mesa this afternoon and stumbled upon an Dia del los Muertos celebration outside at the Mesa Arts Center.  There were numerous booths with various "Dia del los Muertos" goods. 

Also a temporary stage was setup outside on the northside of the Mesa Arts Center building for live performances.   The Mesa Arts Center was also holding various demos and an "open house" of many of the art labs/classrooms.  Glass blowing, paper making and ceramics were some of the demos available.  It was a nice way to spend time outside in the great fall weather.

In Mexico, El Día de los Muertos is a two day public holiday.  The celebration continues today, Sunday, October 31, from 12pm -5pm at the Mesa Arts Center, 1 E Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85201.

Gilbert Arizona – “Early Learning Trail” Grand Opening today

Bring your children or your friend’s children today, May 8, to Discovery Park in Gilbert to experience the Born Learning Trail.  Children are literally "born learning." Five years of education takes place before they enter kindergarten. Therefore, what happens in a child's early years matter for success in life and for preparedness for school.  This new addition to Discovery Park turns outdoor excursions into learning moments critical for school readiness.

The opening ceremony is at 11 a.m., and festivities (free food. music and activities) are until 1 p.m. It’s at the Bedrock Ramada in Discovery Park at 2214 E. Pecos Road, Gilbert. Details: 480-892-0056

The Born Learning Trail, located at the 48-acre Discovery Park on East Pecos Road just south of the 202 uses fun activities such as hopscotch, rhyming and follow the leader. Each of the Trail’s nine stations will focus on a different aspect of childhood development such as pre-literacy (learning the alphabet), cognitive growth (imagination) and spatial skills (learning shapes).

The Gilbert Leadership Class XVIII in in partnership with the Valley of the Sun United Way and the Town of Gilbert sponsored and built the trail.
