PRIVATE NATURE PRESERVE IN FAYETTE COUNTY, KENTUCKY - 03/25/07 10:26 PM
                                        
Yesterday morning I had a chance to get out and have my coffee out in some of the prettiest scenery in Kentucky. My girlfriend called and invited me to go over near the Kentucky River on some property she owns. It is very close to Raven Run Wildlife Sanctuary...maybe a few miles.
The woods and creek there are drop dead gorgeous. I only had my camera phone with me, so I wasn't really prepared to take pics so early in the morning. I thought this one of the moss covered tree trunks on the ground looked like a wishbone.                                                                                                             … (3 comments)

Kentucky Has Too Many Winters! - 03/20/07 10:58 PM
A long time ago (in the late 60's) my Grandmother Elizabeth was visiting our farm at White Hall in Richmond, Kentucky. What a beautiful place that was!
A beautiful old 2 story home with 2 staircases inside sitting in between numerous maple trees. We had  two barns for horses on 33 acres also. We had just moved in but Dad wanted to plant our garden so we would have veggies all summer.
That was when I first heard of the "other seasons" we have here in Kentucky. She said we had 4 extra winters before summer would be here. I'm not quite sure … (5 comments)

People always ask me how I meet my clients. Most of my clients are now close personal friends with me. Most meet me first by phone if they have called Prudential about a house. Chances are...I was on floor duty and all calls went to me.
Next might be open house that I host most Sundays. Many are referrals from past clients or friends. Some are clients after seeing my website or ad in TravelHost about relocating.
In Kentucky Homes Magazine I like to showcase a client and they tell their story of how we met. Now people (even other agents) read these every … (6 comments)

Come 2 Kentucky for Creeks and Tree Tunnels - 03/15/07 11:03 AM
Every creek in Kentucky has a road beside it. Well not all but most of them do.
Kentucky is second behind Alaska for the state with the most waterways. How did the roads develop? I have to wonder if they first had Indians and settlers walking along them to get to the next settlement. The paths became wider over time with wagons and carriages. Later were paved in asphalt to become our modern day roads.
One of my favorite ones is Tates Creek Road between Richmond and Lexington. The trees are a green tunnel that has a leafy ceiling in the … (6 comments)

HOW TO GET A BUYER TO BUY YOUR HOME - 03/13/07 09:05 PM
The past few years have been great to get houses sold for a good price. There were even multiple offers everywhere. What I noticed overall was just HOW houses sold faster. It wasn't because: the agent was brilliant, the marketing was spot on, open houses were held every weekend or even that there was more than one prospective buyer. What sold the house fast was that sellers took out unnecessary stuff and added paint then cleaned it up!
