Central Kentucky's Legendary Rock Fences - 03/22/08 11:30 AM
Central Kentucky's Legendary Rock Fences Central Kentucky is world famous for Thoroughbred horses and endless miles of rock fences (Dry stone walls). There are more rock fences here than any place in the USA. In Central Kentucky only 5 -10% of these 19th century rock fences built by Irish Immigrant stonemasons still stand. These stonemasons passed their craft on to black slaves that became masters of the craft of building rock walls. This is where the term,"slave walls" came about. Since I grew up here in the Bluegrass, this is what I had always thought they were. I had no idea that the walls originated with the

Ahhh.... I LOVE Paris, Kentucky in the Springtime! - 03/21/08 04:23 PM
After touring horse farms yesterday , I took some time to take some beautiful pictures of Paris, Kentucky. This shot was of an old red motorbike complete with sidecar traveling South on 627 just outside of Paris. I wanted to get a good picture or two of the stone(slave walls) and this cyclist got in front of me. Delicately balancing my camera on the dash of my car at 65 MPH I snapped this cool picture! My destination was Spears Mill Road where Stoner creek was overflowing it's banks. I had been there twice in the past few weeks with relocation clients and

Is It High Time You Re-Invented Yourself? - 03/19/08 09:22 AM
Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? When was the last time you dreamed? If you dreamed it...did you ever do it? Have you been stuck in the same job or situation for years...decades? Do you feel technology is passing you by? Are you afraid of failing? Do you think you are too old to try something new? I'm here to tell you to stop what you are doing other than reading this post. It's time for you to realize that you are much, much more than what you are right now. You are a valuable asset to yourself. You have

Happy St. Fitzpatrick's Day!!!! - 03/17/08 06:53 AM
Yes! I'm Irish, Southern Kentucky Realtor®....or some part of me is! I've been wearing my green hair for a week now in support of a fun holiday. Since I don't know exactly what part is Irish,I know I have the Fitzpatrick name from the Irish side. I don't have a copy of the genealogy. The rest of me is English I think. Anyway, it has been a good mix and I didn't turn out half bad. Surely, there is an Irish temper in there somewhere...turned mellow with age. I want to wish a fantastic St. Patrick's Day to my Activerain friends! Congratulations to Jacki and

Lizette's Kentucky Relocation Clients Meet Activerain's Erby Crofutt - 03/14/08 03:32 PM
ALERT! Home inspection does not have to be painful! My Wisconsin transplants, Cindy and Dave are enjoying their visit to the Bluegrass State. While in Kentucky this week, they found their dream home, a brick ranch on a basement. Located on a nice hill with a backyard view of farmland, trees and horses. They were thrilled! As soon as they found the house, we had time to get the home inspection before they left to go back North. Activerain's Kentucky Home Inspector - Erby Crofutt responded in lightning speed to spend hours and hours looking into every nook and cranny of the house. One good thing was that Erby's down home sense of

Clients are Enjoying Lizette's World - Central Kentucky Tour - 03/12/08 02:16 PM
In the past few weeks I have been touring with clients all over Central Kentucky. I have been in Lexington, Richmond, Paris, Winchester,Harrodsburg, Versailles, Midway, Frankfort, Berea, Waco & Paint Lick. All of these places have been toured with clients that are relocating to Kentucky. Many clients found me on the Internet Lizette.us or Activerain.com/ky and trusted me to help them find the perfect home in Central Kentucky. Some were referred by other clients. Some called me from one of my listing signs. Maybe that particular house wasn't the one, but we are working on finding the right one to suit
