Temptation at the Cash Register. Ho Ho Ho ... You Just Lost the Chance to Close Your Loan - 11/29/10 02:50 PM
It's amazing that one small item like opening a store credit card to save a few bucks could keep a buyer from closing on their home. If you have a closing coming up please keep this story in the back of your mind. Don't try to save a few bucks...you may lose that dream home deal. Via Gene Mundt (Chicago Bancorp): You're out doing your holiday shopping. It's 11:45 pm .. and you're in that store because they have exactly what you want and have been looking for ... at an unbelievable price, but only if

Text Messaging Lured My Daughter to Danger! CAUTION TO EVERYONE - 11/27/10 09:00 AM
If you have kids or work in a business that clients text you, please read this story below by Sarah Moore in NC. Talk about this with your children that text their friends. It pays to be careful in this crazy world. Via Sarah Moore (RE/MAX SIGNATURE PROPERTIES): Today, everyone has a mobile phone. If you are like most, you LOVE TO TEXT! I will admit that I had not really enjoyed texting until this past year but found out convenient it is! My teenager daughter texts all the time, to my frustration! Recently her phone stopped working and we

What Do You Do With That Leftover Turkey? - 11/26/10 09:20 AM
The day was grand...all the family ate all they wanted and got out of there. You were left with a kitchen that looked like a war zone. You laugh now... but you had earlier been pondering whether you had baked a large enough turkey. God forbid that you run out of turkey while the relatives are filling their plates! What is left as your tired eyes survey the carnage, is loads of turkey meat left in the platter. Your stomach is probably telling you that it can't take any more suffering. I know my belly felt like a balloon last night

Kentucky Turkey Wins Round One - 11/25/10 08:29 AM
This is for all of you that had to bake the bird this year. I found an easy way out by letting the local grocery oven roast mine for only five bucks. They clean it, bast it in butter, bake it to juicy perfection, then wrap it up perfectly in a pan covered in tin foil and put it in a box. All I had to do was slice it. Ahhhh...life is good. Take a look at the other option... HAPPY THANKSGIVING XOXO Lizette & Chanel

iHome Thanksgiving With A Twist - 11/24/10 06:45 PM
Are we there yet?? I remember the drive to my grandparents house on Thanksgiving. I'm into creating memories. Last year, when I was in charge the music to eat dinner by it was none other than Michael Jackson. This will be my third year hosting. I'm always into improving. Dinner should be an experience to remember. I'm not very old-fashioned. I have been waiting patiently for my T-Mobile contract to expire so I could get my iPhone. I've spent a month learning how to use it and download apps. One app I really love is Pandora radio. I wanted to figure

Something Fun To Ponder As You Fly Home For The Holidays - 11/24/10 11:15 AM
I'm one of the lucky ones that will be stying right in my home to cook for everyone for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Lord help the poor souls that have to fly somewhere for the holidays. Flying is not much fun anymore. If you make it to the airport on time there is still all that security to get though. Then...you might think you have all the problems licked. Well think again and watch this video by Bryan Regan. He's got it all figured out for you! LOL

Pay It Forward - My Sellers That Go The Extra Mile For Buyers - 11/23/10 04:15 PM
I've been in the business for over 7 years now. I've listed and sold many homes and navigated many buyers though buying homes also. What is extremely rare is what happened before my last closing. My sellers loved their new home that I had sold them. They hated to move but had to for job reasons. We found a buyer and a contact was agreed upon. As soon as the last inspection was finished, my sellers called me to see who I knew that would come in to professionally clean the house. They also asked me who I could recommend

$220 In Savings in Ink Could Buy Thanksgiving Dinner for 10! - 11/23/10 12:02 PM
I am in charge this year for Thanksgiving dinner. That means I am the one to foot the bill and I could use some help from Kodak. If I had used a Kodak printer all year, my savings would be approximately $220.00. Use less ink and help me pay for dinner for my family. Thanksgiving has come around fast this year. It's hard to belive Christmas is around the corner when our weather has been in the 60's. I'm told that the temperature will drop in a few days and we sill start getting the chill factor. Turkey will be easy this

Do you know how OLD your tires are? Your life could depend on it. - 11/21/10 09:12 PM
I learn something around here every day. This story is really an eye opener for those that use their cars as their office. Even family, friends and clients that drive. Our lives rely on our tires! Please be sure to read this and check your tires today. Via Cynthia Larsen - Sonoma County Real Estate (Safe Haven Realty): When my family met in Grants Pass Oregon for an annual gathering, my brother's motor home had two tires that virtually exploded on his way South. He was pretty upset about it, not because of the cost, time and frustration, but because

Does Old Mean Antiquated? - 11/19/10 09:38 AM
I haven't seen an old fuse type electrical box in a house for some time. But then again, I am not an inspector. I do remember my Dad changing the fuses when they blew at my childhood home. I wonder if they ever updated that house? Hmmmm Via James Quarello - Connecticut Home Inspector (JRV Home Inspection Services, LLC): Residential electrical systems have gone through many changes over the years since they were first put into houses. Many of the changes have been safety related. One safety item that is about as old as the first house wiring is circuit protection.

Pay It Forward - Create Thanksgiving Memories For Your Family - 11/18/10 05:58 PM
I can remember all of my family congregating at my Granny's house on Thanksgiving. It was amazing the amount of bodies that were fit into that small house in Mount Sterling KY. To a young impressionable child, it was BIG and a wonderland full of different toys(all in a whicker basket in her bedroom) and the smell of bread and turkey baking in the kitchen. It was the time of the year I would finally get to play with my cousins. That's me with the pained look on my face sitting next to Cousin Anne and my brother Porter. Ray is on the end of

Richmond KY - Cinemark - Richmond Centre - Movies in 40475 - 11/18/10 04:46 PM
Richmond KY Cinemark - Richmond Centre -Movies in 40475 It's hard to believe that two years have already passed since the grand opening of Richmond Centre Cinemark in Richmond KY. I had been invited along with hundreds of other folks to attend the Grand opening party. A light snow fall fell on our heads as we anxiously waited on the sidewalk for the doors to open at 6:30PM. It was the coldest night of the season but it had the feel of a Christmas Eve. The excitement was contagious as we all shivered in our shoes! Brrrr! It was really a long

The Effects of A Stolen Photograph - 11/17/10 10:15 PM
This is a good reminder of just how borrowing one random photo upset the original photographer. It does make you stop and think before randomly using pictures from the Internet. I wonder how I would feel if I saw one of my pics being used in this way? I wonder how I would feel if this had happen to a pic of my pet? Please read this by Cherimie Crane. Via Cherimie Crane, www.BeaufortTime.com (Cherimie Crane & Associates, Ballenger Realty): At least once a week I read the warnings from agents about copying photographs. Honestly, I haven't given it much thought until

Psychic Hal Predictions and Over-Time Counter Offers - 11/13/10 08:40 PM
I'm usually good at guessing how things are going to turn out. Every now and then, I get blind-sided by someone or something. Wouldn't it be nice to always know what was going to happen with each of our offers? Like what is the magic number to get an offer accepted? I have to admit that I can usually get pretty close in a guess of what the price of the deal will be. Couldn't that save lots of time if I was right every time?? Today, I have been working on two different offers. One was accepted and I was

Pay It Forward - Mom Thanks All of You That Sent Her A Card - 11/10/10 03:03 PM
A few weeks ago I worked on a pay it forward for my Mom that was turning 80. I thought that a simple thing as sending greeting cards the old fashioned way to her mailbox might make her smile. Well...it worked so well that she got over 50 cards! And even some gifts like jams, lottery tickets, a Starbucks gift card, brownies and cookies. Even roses!!! As you can see, there are soooo many cards! Mom was surprised every day and would call me to tell me about each one as she opened them. I hadn't told her that I had asked
