Until the past few years in Kentucky, it was easy to get houses sold for a good price.
There were even multiple offers everywhere! Yes, we Realtors(R) were almost order takers! Ahhhh...life was good!
What I noticed overall was just HOW some houses sold faster. It wasn't because: the agent was brilliant, the marketing was spot on, open houses were held every weekend or even that there was more than one prospective buyer.

When I moved into my home, it was a barren wasteland of construction weeds, clay soil and buried trash.(Like bricks, wire, cans, broken concrete, etc.)
Now after 7 years, I can say that I have revamped it all a few times.
I've added at least 30 trees and loads of flowers. This past fall, I added a raised flower bed to plant vegetables.
The fruit trees in the yard are nectarines, pears, peaches and cherries.

Kentucky Festivals are in full swing right now.
There are so many fun small towns to visit and take advantage of the great fall weather this weekend.

I plan to head to the northeast tomorrow for the Preston KY Court Days and might swing by Mount Sterling KY on the way back.
I want to see if I can't get some nice fall colr photos of the tress, pastures and barns.

Every now and then I stop to take a look into where I can drop some services for some extra money to try something different.
Today, I was able to save $1327.88 a year!
My first call was to drop the Showtime movies from My Direct TV bill. I only had added it so I could watch one show. How silly was that? It ended a month ago. That cost $12.99 @ month and $155.88 @ year!

Ahhhh... "those were the good old days," my Mom and Dad used to say.
I can well remember the story of an old Sears refrigerator that they carted all over Wyoming to Laredo Texas when my Dad was in the Air Force back in the 50's.
Then they packed it to Richmond, Kentucky and used it for years. Later, it was installed in a apartment and it might still be there!
It's over 50 years old!
They don't make them like they used to!

When phone calls come into the office from clients I always try to help everyone.
Even people you think are not prepared... surprise you after you meet them sometimes. It's nice when parents that know the old school ways to save money pass on these traits to young people that will listen today.

Maybe, It's Nothing Personal...Just Good Business.
A few days ago, I was asked by another REALTOR to take a look at a property out of his MLS area to see if I might be interested in listing it as a referral.
The property was actually a county outside my usual area but, if it were marketable I would be interested.
You never know till you go look and see what is around it.
