Hi everyone,

With the real estate market being in a slump for the last serveral months, we decided that we needed to do something else to make some money. And it was just around that time that this new framing system was brought to our attention.

Hybrid SIP System IS different than traditional SIPs

Dirt bikes got the best of me.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to talk a little bit about myself today and let you know a little bit about myself. Growing up in Wickenburg, Arizona with my dad being a dirt bike rider, it didn't take long for me to find myself right behind him on my dirt bike. I started competing in off road races when I was 9 years old, and I was doing fairly well. However, when I was 16, that all changed.

On March 16, 2002, my life was almost taken from me by my dirt bike. What happened was a part of the handlebars, called a crossbar, struck my throat and fractured my larynx (voicebox). This particular type of injury is usually followed by death. In my case, the puzzle pieces all fell perfectly together to secure my survival (ie, paramedics/helicopter on scene).

However, after 2 weeks in the hospital and 3 months with a endotracheal tube, I was almost good as new. With the exception of a paralyzed vocal cord. Thsese days I'm happy to say that I'm still alive and kicking even with my rhaspy/quiet voice. The reason why I am blogging about this today is to educate people about the type of handlebars you have on your motorcycle.

If your dirt bike handlebars look like this:

If you have family or friends that rides dirt bikes, I strongly encourage you to replace your exsisting handlebars with a design that does not have the crossbar like these:

Please, Please take what I have said here to heart and change those handlebars to prevent a horrible injury such as a larnyx fracture from happening to someone you know. Thanks for reading and I hope that this experience shows you how important this issue really is.

Slow Pitch Softball emmulates Wickenburg Lifestyle

Alright, for my blog today, I was just thinking about slow pitch softball. During the summer months on Tuesday's and Thursday's in Wickenburg there is a collection of old men, young men, and a few women that leave their troubles at home and come to Sunrise Community Park and play some slow pitch softball.

I started playing as a "fill in" about 3 years ago. I was incredibly neverous the first time I played softball with the men, however, after a couple of games I stopped being shy and just started playing ball. Next thing I know I was laughing at every game and even sharing stories with everyone. Over the next couple of seasons I got to know more of the players, and they got to know me. This year I was just another one of the gang, expected to be at every game.

This got me thinking about Wickenburg and the people that are in it. Slow pitch softball is much like the town of Wickenburg. For example, you could compare my joining the softball games with someone who has just moved to Wickenburg. Someone who just moved here may feel a little intimidated by the fact that everyone knows everyone (except for them). Although, after a few months of living in the community and meeting new people, eventually you will become part of the family we call Wickenburg.

There are many other comparisons that I could get into, however I encourage that you come down to Wickenburg if you ever have the time to check out a game and see how or town works. Although there are only 2 more games to be played this season, there is always next year!

Hi,

My name is Kyle Vaughn, and I'm 22 years old living in the small town of Wickenburg, Arizona. Since this is my first blog, I'll take the time to give you a little background on myself and the wonderful little town that I work/live in.

I have been living in a small town approximately 60 miles northwest of Phoenix, Arizona for a litte more than 18 years called Wickenburg. After graduating from Wickenburg High School in 2004, I (along with every other graduate) was thrilled to get out of the small town trap known as "the Wick". However, after spending two years of living the city life, I realized that type of lifestyle wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. I soon began to discover that Wickenburg isn't just another small town trap, its much much more than that.

Wickenburg is a community, a network of family and friends, or perhaps you may call it just "one big happy family". I have known and been friends with a lot of the same people that I was friends with in Kindergarden and I take comfort in knowing that these people are always gonna be there for me, and that I'll always be there for them. Another thing that brought me back to Wickenburg, and will continue bringing me back, is that Wickenburg is surrounded by gorgeous desert. As a huge fan of nature and wildlife, I am never disappointed at the beauty that is in and around Wickenburg.

Another thing that I enjoy about my town is that I am a huge dirt bike fan. I ride every chance I get. And in Wickenburg, you are never more than a 10 minute haul to some awesome riding terrain. That also goes for horseback riders. In fact, Wickenburg was named True West Magazine's no. 8 Most Western Town in America for the year of 2008.

Wickenburg is home to a bluegrass festival, countless rodeos, and the famed DC Riders, and Gold Rush Days. During the DC Ride people come from all over the country to embark on a 5 day horseback journey. And Gold Rush Days is an annual celebration held in February. It is a 4 day festival including a carnival, parade, and vendor booths from all across America.

Anywho, I'll stop here for now. I'll try to bring you more information on whats going on in and around Wickenburg as much as possible. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
