Nolo Press a fantastic publisher of business books asked me to be their Advisory editor for their section on preparing a home for market "Dressing Your House for Success" in their upcoming book due in May "Selling Your House in a Down Economy." 
I was honored to work with a wonderful team on this important section of the book. After all is said and done it appears that it will be the largest section of the book! It happens all the time...client's start working on a home prior to calling in a professional stager.
Number one thing they do is clear out All the clutter and paint everything white!!!!
If I could help homeowners out there the number one thing I would tell them is STOP. WAIT. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT with a Professional qualified stager before you do ANYTHING!
Of course, it's OK to clean the house including miscellaneous toys and paperwork on the counter, BUT don't go crazy taking things off the walls, replacing appliances, and painting without talking to a professional stager first.  You would be amazed about … (8 comments)
