Previously I worked in new home sales and it was soooo easy. Especially in the quality division I was in. Now, I'm a new agent in a strictly resale office. It is so different. Granted, many say now it's a buyers market, and as far as numbers of listings go, that's definitely the case, but the phones aren't ringing and the door stays idling open just waiting for a visitor... no luck. Granted, I understand the finer points of marketing and marketing yourself. One way to become a great agent, and a great listing agent is to spend lots and lots of money marketing yourself. But, there's got to be other ways, and I am hoping for suggestions. How do you get yourself out into a resale market and make a name for yourself, when it seems as if the entire market may be at a stand still.
So, any points, for a new resale agent would be extremely helpful. I'm busy with creative strategy for design and marketing, but I'd love to hear other ideas.
Also, is it just me, or is it not a better deal to buy a new home right now than a resale home. I've been looking at hundreds and hundreds of listings over the week in my tri-county area, and it seems like until you reach the $400,000+ range, you're paying an awful lot of money for a used modular, or a used "sell as is". But, then there are brand new homes in the $300,000. I mean, what would you do, buy a run down used manufactured home with no garage, on .7 acres, or buy a brand new house with 4/2 on .33 acres. No wonder things aren't moving, huh.
Thanks for all your help!
