Delray Beach...Rainy Days
We’ve had rainy afternoons and nights and some thunderstorms but you’ll get no complaints from me.

Delray Beach...Delray Affair and Friends

Someone told me today that we may be in for one more cool front but I’ll believe it when I see it. We are reaching daytime temps in the 80s and humidity has already set in.

And, I’d imagine that James Dray is loving this week as well.

Delray Beach...Resurrection, Freedom, and Toss in a Bunny for Good Measure

Some people measure time by holidays...for example, the last time you saw your family was at Christmas. Easter and Passover are kind of hard to pinpoint because they don’t always fall on the same calendar day. For that matter, neither does Thanksgiving.

If you live in South Florida, Easter and Passover tend to also mark the beginning of the great migration north by our snowbirds.

Delray Beach...Spring?

If you ask people in the north they might disagree if you said it was Spring. Winter has been hanging around as if it was reluctant to leave.

Those of us here in Florida are wondering if Spring may have gone on vacation and left the door open for summer. We’ve had temps in the high 80s. Thankfully, it cooled down later in the week.

Delray Beach...March Madness

The madness that is March is upon us, and my brackets (all 4 of them) are collapsing as I write this.
It is fun though and it’s a lot easier to check your brackets since computers took over the sheets.

Delray Beach...Not Since Sandy

What a week in Delray!  We’ve not had waves like this since Sandy back in 2012. You’ll get no complaints from us since we still had warmer temps than our neighbors to the north were enduring.

Delray Beach...Conversations

The second set of houseguests has left and we have a break until the next set arrives. For me, the favorite parts of the visits have been the morning chats over coffee, our afternoons catching up over ice cream at Kilwin’s on Atlantic Avenue, and then after dinner conversations on the patio.

Delray Beach- Happy Valentine’s Day Week!

Valentine’s Day is Wednesday so if you haven’t made dinner reservations, ordered flowers, purchased some darn good chocolates, or visited my favorite jewelry store with the very recognizable blue boxes, then you’d better hurry.

Of course, you could still write a good poem if that’s in your repertoire.

I’m more of a football fan but college basketball is fun, especially when March comes around.

Old School Square in Delray Beach-The Center Of This All America City
Almost all cities and towns have a center. It is a place...be it a city block, a corner, or an area that extends many blocks...where residents gather to disseminate local information, hold meetings, and celebrate events.
Old School Square in Delray Beach is just that.
