In a time when the real estate market is so different than it was just a few short years ago, perhaps there needs to be a different meaning for the word success.
It is very possible that I never quite agreed with the accepted definition of success in our industry.  Success always seemed to be:

Sometimes it is easy to name a new member of your family even when that new member is a kitten.  That is the case with Goldie.
A little more than 15 years ago while driving home one evening at dusk on a country road near Lake Anna I saw a very small "thing" in the road.  At first I thought it was just a small lunch bag size light brown paper bag but than it moved.  I drove past, turned around and came back.  By then I saw it was a kitten dragging itself off the side of the road.

You are Never too Old to Play in the Rain or to be a REALTOR® - 11/23/08 05:51 PM
One of the things many of us have learned is that to be successful in real estate you have to have a positive attitude.  It is not the only thing to be sure, but it is a mighty important one.
With a positive attitude you realize that many things are possible.  One important thing is to realize that getting older in this profession is not a hindrance.  How is that possible?  Well, it requires the older REALTOR® to make an honest assessment about the way they are going to do business.

Bookworm Meme - I've Been Tagged - 11/23/08 01:53 PM
I am a Bookworm.  However, my computer is in my sun room where I do not usually have many books.  There are only 21 in the room at the moment.
Most, although not all as my husband will attest, are in our Library/Lego room.  In the picture you will see 3 1/2 of the bookshelves there.  We have six more.  When we pose as "upper crust" it is our Library.  When we are "real" it is our Lego room, a room all 10 of our grandchildren love.  Here they can dump the big and little Lego pieces and create to their hearts content.

Seriously, do members of Active Rain somehow have more hours in a day than non-members?  Or non-active members?
Curiousity has definitely set in.  I have begun to wonder how we all manage to have "successful" (success may have a different meaning in this market...it may simply mean still being in it) careers, family and personal lives, and we even have time for the Rain.

Yes, I know.  This is a very old song.  Too bad!  I am a very old lady.
And, yes I know that many, many people like it.  They must because every once in a while (which seems like daily) I hear this song.  (Please do not ask me what Rap station I am listening to.)
And, please do not ask me why I do not like this song.  I have absolutely no idea why.  Do I really need a reason?

Are many of us really looking forward to winter?  I do and I don't...mostly don't.  However, year after year it shows up anyway right after fall.
Ah, fall.  Last Friday my husband,, Jim and I took our Tritoon out for a cruise.  We were headed to Sturgeon Creek Marina to have "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" detailed.*
Having been on Active Rain long enough to know that one goes nowhere, absolutely nowhere, without a camera I of course had mine.

Getting Featured...Which Way? - 11/01/08 08:16 PM
The intent of the posts written by  Castellum Realty, Top 100 ways to get featured on Active Rain and Top 10 Bloggers with featured posts , and Midori Miller, Featured Post or Featured Quality?, was to help all of us learn how to write featured posts.
No doubt they did a good job, in fact a darn good job.  However, I still have a couple of questions.
Do I need to include all 100 ways to write a featured post in one post?or Do I write 100 posts, each using one of the tips in the list?  Would that then guarantee me 100 features … (75 comments)
