While checking my email just now I saw a message from Inman News.  In checking it out I saw the following under COLUMNISTS ARTICLES: Presenting picture-perfect property photosRealtor Notebook As soon as I saw that I said to myself, Teresa Boardman.  Sure enough, once I clicked on the lead-in up came the article with Teresa's name and photo.  Actually, a photo of her looking at the camera! Why the Delight in Fewer REALTORS®? - 02/23/09 09:55 PM
As the market has become more challenging I am seeing more and more posts dealing with the diminishing number of REALTORS®.  I find it interesting that some of these seem to be grateful, in fact downright delighted, that some REALTORS® have had to leave the field.  Comments often reflect similar sentiments.
Why?
Please do not tell me it is because we are losing the "bad" agents.  Yes, I am sure we are losing some of them.  However, we are also losing others that are as good at the business as you and I believe we are.

To tell you the truth, I'm afraid to go to bed at night.
Strange things happen on Active Rain in the wee hours of the night.  In the morning I wake up and I do not know what I will find.
This time it was not a case of what I would find, but rather what I did not find.
Where are all my buddys' pictures?  (Should it be buddies'?)

It is not every day that we are offered something Free that is actually Free, no strings attached. We, who live in or near Louisa County, will be able to take advantage of this offer.  It is for a Free (there's that word again) table at the next Louisa Beautification Festival provided you have some ideas on how to achieve a better way to take care of our county and to make it a better place to live.

I am passionate about life.  Life and everything it contains for me.  This is nothing new.  I've had a zest for life since I was a very, very young child.  My mom will vouch for me on that.
Perhaps a glimpse of my license plates will show you what I mean.

 

I have had the license plate that reads LVNSGR8 for about 20 years now.  I wanted one that would tell something about me.  Of course, I thought of Livings Great.  Shortly after receiving my plates I realized that it also stood for Lovings Great and Leavings Great.

This is certainly a case of good news...bad news.  The good news is that the Fredericksburg Area Association of REALTORS® (FAAR) is hosting a REBarCamp in March.
The bad news is, it is filled up. 
Given the huge response we had shows how popular this event is.  If at any time there is a REBarCamp coming to an area near you and you have an interest in attending my advice to you is sign up quickly.  As soon as registration is announced, do it.

The road trip has come and gone.
The departure date arrived so quickly that I never did write the post so now that we are back home I'll tell you how it went.
It is not often that a mom (or a dad) has an opportunity to spend a great deal of time one-on-one with one of their adult offspring.  That was something I was able to do beginning last Thursday.  My son and I set out for a road trip to Orlando where his daughter would be playing in a field hockey tournament.  Allegra flew down with the rest of … (16 comments)

The number at the top left corner of our page continues to grow and grow.  Every time I look up the number is larger.  We, who have been members for some time, understand why.  What is wonderful is that others are learning what a wealth of information and contacts they will receive by joining.
The other morning a received an e-mail.  There had been a comment on a post I wrote last July, Lake Anna, VA...No Sharks, No Jellyfish & No Flood Insurance.  I love it when, out of the blue, a post reappears.

Saving Alternative Septic Systems in Virginia - 02/03/09 08:14 PM
One of the attractions of Lake Anna is its rural setting.  Lake Anna is surrounded by Spotsylvania, Louisa, and Orange counties although most of the lake is within the first two. 
Located out in the country, public services are not available.  Homeowners rely on well and septic fields in place of public sewage and public water.  Most of the septic fields are gravity feed while others are pump up systems with holding tanks. 
Site evaluation and soil assessment may determine that neither one of these systems is viable.  At that point alternative septic systems are generally considered.  I should add that some property owners … (2 comments)

On Saturday while showing a house I saw a former client who had purchased the house across the street last year as a second home.  When he saw me he came to talk and proceeded to tell me how happy his family is.  They used their home every weekend between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
