Where Can You Find Pleasure Island at Lake Anna, VA? - 03/31/10 12:12 PM
Where Can You Find Pleasure Island at Lake Anna, VA?
Pleasure Island is tucked away far from the maddening crowds.  Entrance is through another subdivision, Magnolia Harbour, and is accessed off Courthouse Road (Route 208) in Spotsylvania County.
This subdivision is one of the smallest at Lake Anna.  It is composed entirely of waterfront lots, some with spectacular views and shorelines.

Like many of the subdivisions around Lake Anna, Pleasure Island is replete with handsome hardwood trees.  Beautiful all year round, it peaks during the fall when the colorful foliage is reflected in the lake.
As one of the newer … (4 comments)

Active Rain Power on Google.com - 03/29/10 07:53 PM
Active Rain power on Google.com is evident once again.
Results 1 - 10 of about 24,800 for "kate elim" Who would have ever thought that searching one's name would result in such a find on Google.com.  Not me.  It's one thing if you are famous but I am not.
Now please do not start humming that song, "You're So Vain"*.  I was really just curious and naturally had to satisfy my curiosity.
What do I owe this huge number to?  Well, if your answer is anything other than Active Rain you would be wrong which means all the laurels go to AR.  … (3 comments)

Magnolia Harbour, at Lake Anna, Virginia, is a Beautiful Subdivision - 03/29/10 05:36 PM
Magnolia Harbour, at Lake Anna, Virginia, is a beautiful subdivision.  It is located right off of Courthouse Road (Route 208) on the Spotsylvania County side of Lake Anna.
Magnolia Harbour is one of the smaller subdivisions around the lake.  Filled with some stunning homes, it sits on the main side with its more than 9,000 square acres of surface water and has easy access to marinas and lake side restaurants.
This subdivision, like most of those at Lake Anna, is made up of access and waterfront properties.  Sold prices for resale homes have ranged from $345,000 to $1,090,000.
Current there are … (3 comments)

Windwood Coves, at Lake Anna, Virginia, Has it All - 03/27/10 10:16 PM
Windwood Coves, at Lake Anna, Virginia, has it all.  One of the largest communities here and one of the older ones, Windwood Coves has made a name for itself.  Without a doubt it has one of the nicest common areas around the lake.
For those of you that do not know what a common area is, it is a waterfront lot in a community that has been reserved to allow access to the lake.  Common areas vary from one subdivision to another.  The one in Windwood Coves has some very nice amenities for the property owners.  There is a very large … (3 comments)

Noah's Landing is One of the Premier Subdivisions Around Lake Anna, VA - 03/25/10 08:41 PM
Noah's Landing is one of the premier subdivisions around Lake Anna, VA.  It is also one of the newer ones. It is located in the area known as the private side.
Since the creation of Lake Anna there have been two sides to the lake.  They are separated by three dykes which do not allow passage from one side to the other.  On the private side there are no commercial establishments along the shore which means there are no marinas or other types of businesses.  As there is no access to the water, other than from ramps located in the common areas within the … (4 comments)

Wondering What's New at Lake Anna? - 03/24/10 06:31 PM
Wondering what's new at Lake Anna?  Well today as I was coming around the bend on New Market Road heading for the 208 Bridge, I saw a huge crane and knew the skyscraper was in the making.
Yes, we are getting a full blown skyscraper at Lake Anna.  It will be all of two (2) stories high.  Yes, that's right, two stories high.  However, at Lake Anna that comes close to being a skyscraper.  Don't forget we're country out here.
Lake Anna's shoreline in this area is filled with waterfront homes and a couple of marinas and other businesses, all rather … (6 comments)

America's Got Talent - One For The Money, Two For The Show... - 03/21/10 11:51 PM
I'm excited.  I know you will be excited to learn Brad's news so here it is!

Via Brad Andersohn ~ Community Manager (ActiveRain):
It's not too often that I would post something like this on ActiveRain but this is just way too exciting to pass up.  Many of you who went to RainCamp in San Francisco got to see our family Band "Armored Flight" play for our first live performance.  We had a blast and the support and love we've received since has been awesome.  One thing led to another, and the next thing I know, we were auditioning for America's … (3 comments)

Low Inventory? Spread the Word and Get Some Listings - 03/21/10 10:38 PM
Low inventory?  Spread the word and get some listings.  This thought dawned on me while reading and commenting on a post by Sandra Paulow, Buyers are Back & Inventory is Dropping!.
Why not use this information to garner some new listings?  If a home owner had thoughts of selling but was on the fence this news might help them make up their mind.  Having heard so much about the state of the real estate market they may be reluctant to take the leap.  Why not a gentle nudge to encourage them to think positive.
Now is the time to let your market know what is … (8 comments)

Active Rain and What it Means to Me - 03/20/10 08:41 PM
Active Rain and What it Means to Me
Hi Everyone...I was gone since 6:10 this morning and arrived home not that long ago (granddaughter's field hockey tournament in Richmond plus some family time).  What a welcome home I received.  First of all, all the wonderful comments I received on my last blog.  Second, two messages from member friends telling me I was featured in today's newsletter.  I looked and sure enough I was.  What a delightful surprise.
The staff at ActiveRain has been so good to me.  After all, they came up with the idea of creating this site and then they … (11 comments)

Experienced Blogger? Continue Learning at Active Rain University - 03/18/10 10:34 PM
Experienced blogger?  Continue learning at Active Rain University.  Yes, no matter how much we know there always seems to be something else we can learn.  That was confirmed for me today when I attended a webinar this afternoon.
Having read hundred (thousands?) of blogs written by a very wide spectrum of Active Rain members. I've noticed that some experienced members still have not incorporated pictures, maps, graphs, or videos to enhance the content of their blogs.
There are others that use some of these tools but have not learned that it helps to create margins around them so that they are not smack up against the text.  Others insert a small … (74 comments)

Wordless Wednesday...Jumping for Joy - 03/17/10 10:37 PM
I love this photo.  It is wonderful to experience so much joy.  It is up to us to make sure that we find times in our busy lives to seek out things that will bring us joy.  There is no sense being so wrapped up in our work that we do not find time to experience the fun and exhileration of happy times.
These young girls had just completed a three day indoor field hocky tournament.  Looking at them you would think they were winners.  Of course they were.  True they did not win all of their games, they were six … (15 comments)

In 3 - 5 minutes, you can help make a wish come true today - 03/17/10 10:06 PM
Please take a couple of minutes and join Sam's team.  There are 3,749 members at 11:06 p.m. and they would love to have 5,000 before the end of the evening.  It may not be possible but let's get as close to that as possible.

WE ARE OFTEN TOLD THAT OUR ATTITUDE WILL MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.  It will determine how well we do in real estate and in other areas of our lives as well.  What are you doing to make sure you have the best attitude possible?
We often read and are told about the many things that are important if we are going to be successful.  Among the things we learn is how important it is to:

You're Bound to Smile When You Love What You're Doing! - 03/10/10 08:03 AM
This little girl has a great reason to be smiling. She's up in NY City with her mom auditioning for a role in a touring company of Billy Elliott, a musical scored by Elton John. She made the first cut! Thursday morning she has an audition for 101 Dalmations. Fun.
This little girl's mom is my daughter, Tamra.  Yes, I am the lucky grandma.  She loves to sing, dance, and act (as well as play softball and swim).  No matter the outcome of these auditions, Autumn is a star in our eyes.  My husband and I are fortunate to have … (14 comments)
