MARKET REPORT - LAKE ANNA...Louisa County WATER ACCESS Homes SOLD in 2011
There are three counties bordering Lake Anna.  They are Louisa, Spotsylvania, and Orange Counties.  Both Louisa and Spotsylvania encompass the majority of the countryside while Orange County covers a much smaller section in the northwest area of the lake.  This market report* lists the water access homes sold in Louisa County on the Private Side during 2011.
The Private Side is located entirely in Louisa County.

TRUST...I'm Better Off With Than Without - 01/08/12 06:55 PM
Growing up in a family where there was never any doubt that my parents loved me and my three sisters certainly provided the foundation for my trust in others.  We were part of an extended family that provided a sense of security.  This contributes to a willingness to trust others.  There have been times that I have been disappointed but for every time I have faced disappointment there have been multiple times when my trust has been rewarded.  I like those odds and so my trust continues.

Fredericksburg, VA has the beauty and charm of a small American town.  One of the reasons is that it is an old town filled with homes that look as though they should be on postcards or calendars.  Fredericksburg's history is long and filled with interesting events.   When you stroll up and down some of the street within this small town you can see sites that have been seen by generation after generation of residents.

Winter hasn't hit us yet and already I'm thinking of spring and summer at Lake Anna.  We have only had a couple of wintry days when the weather has been down in the 40's.  Other than that we have had unseasonably warm days, many of them sunny ones.  We really have nothing to complain about...unless you like to freeze, and yet I find myself thinking spring is right around the corner.

This is a good reminder to all of us that our first post may not be our most memorable post but it was at least a stepping stone along the right path...the path of blogging.  We learn as we go although sometimes time dictates how 'pretty' our post becomes.  After all, we do work for a living and that tends to take us away from the computer and our life in Active Rain.

There's not a great deal of good news for homeowners of short sales but there is some at least for a good number of them.  Losing their home in a short sales leaves many wondering what their home buying chances are in the future.  This will give them some idea.

The Red Cross supplies almost half the blood supply in the United States and that is a huge amount.  Every day, year round, about 44,000 pints of blood are needed.  That's a staggering amount.  In the winter donations decrease but the need does not.  If you have never donated perhaps this is the perfect time for you to consider beginning.

WINTER BUYERS ARE ALMOST ALWAYS SERIOUS BUYERS AT LAKE ANNA - 01/04/12 10:24 PM
Winter "buyers" are almost always SERIOUS BUYERS.  Most buyers that are out looking at properties at Lakek Anna during the winter months and especially during the holidays are usually goal oriented.  They are looking at the calendar and realize that if they begin looking now they will have a very good chance of finding something well before the recreational season begins.  By recreational I'm talking specifically about the water oriented activities. Many of the other activities can be done year round or almost year round. 
There are many times buyers' thoughts turn to warm weather and having fun even in the midst of winter.

You never know when your post on Active Rain will result in a commission...but it NEVER WILL if you don't blog!  It's as easy as that.  I was reading a "Success Story" post by Ava Anderson who had stopped blogging on Active Rain when out of the blue she was contacted by a purchaser because of her Active Rain blog.  When that contact turned into a commission check Ava became a believer.

Recently I had the benefit of watching one of the webinars offered by Active Rain. The title was, Tackle Your 2012 Business Plan, which was exactly what I need to do.
It was all about Market Leader, a company that claims it can help you close more business. Although I have had many successful years in real estate without using a lead generation program, like many of you, I'm more than interested in increasing my leads. The more "good" leads we receive should translate into even more transactions closed.

U.S. Bank Loses Loan Modification Suit Brought by Mortgage Holder - 01/01/12 07:01 PM
I was very pleased today when I came across the following quote from Georgia Superior Court Judge Dennis Blackmon. 
'Clearly, U.S. Bank cannot take the money, contract with our government to provide a service to the taxpayer, violate that agreement, and then say no one on earth can sue them for it.'*

There are so many posts here on Active Rain that provide useful information.  This one really does for those of us that would like to create better and more varied market reports.  For anyone else thinking of doing the same thing do yourself a favor and save John Novak's post.
